Ok guys and gals, I need uber computer help

So this morning I turned on my computer, opened mozilla firefox and then my IM and seconds later, ALL my desktop icons dissapear and my blue bar at the bottom and my start button (im running XP)

WTH!!!!! what is going on?! I turned it on again (just now) and it happened again. This makes no sense to me. Firefox and Gaim are working perfectly, but i cant DO anything else.

SAVE ME!!!!!

i would give a screenshot.... but i cant!

 

How odd... I restarted, ran a virus scan (still scanning) and have as of yet found nothing.... and strangely its working again.

CURSE YOU COMPUTER GODS!!!!!

 

I would disable and unplug wireless and cable internet connection and lockdown then go to Start>All programs>Accessories>System tools>System restore and restore to like 3 days ago. or I'm not sure, good luck

ever since I changed to Fire Fox engine I get that now & again ? it must be something in it operation cause just ol Internet explorer didn't do it ?
