At our house we hand out candy and then turn off the lights when we run out. Once the lights go off that is when we get ready for the kids to throw eggs at our house.

I've done both. Lights on and pass out candy. Though we forgot to get some candy a couple of times...lights out..no one's homes. They still knock though.

This year it's "Lights out!". I spent all day yesterday walking around the Texas Renaissance Festival and didn't get in until late. I plan on turning out the lights, disabling the doorbell and crashing on the couch. If they egg my house, so be it. It's already survived hurricane Rita. It'll survive an egging!

Halloween is the perfect holiday..........I adore it. Love candy, love the whole thing about it!
Tonight:
One of my kids is a grim reaper
Mini me is going as a Devil.
I am going as myself

And to top it- yesterday someone fell off the roof of one of the houses they are building behind me. Not to be insensitive, but I don't wanna be the person who buys THAT haunted house.

I have gum suckers and anything else I wouldn't devour instantly, along with like 200 plastic rings in the mix.

And I get to test the kids candy for "bad" candy(IE Stuff I want to eat)

Did they die? It can't be haunted unless they die there.

I love handing candy out to the kids. Last night I went to a party at a friends house, and brought my own candy there to add to their stash at the door. And I ended up answering the door and handing candy out myself all night.
