Ok- So I had to have this house, and I love it.
And I had to have Eleanor- and shes my 4th child(after my real kids and Eddie)
BUT my impulses are not always correct...(Ill fated job another grass isn't greener tale)

So I have my little Jack- Eddie- love that dog he's my shadow. Eddie is a heart dog, no matter how bad he can get being high strung, we all adore him.

And for my bday I thought- Hey I loved that greyhound I used to have. I WANNA NOTHER ONE.
So stupid me went to get him. Worst friggin mistake ever! The dog has ruined my life(and my brand new house). I am sending him back to the kennel he came from, I lost $150 but its a lesson learned.

So in truth-
The grass is not always greener.
Be happy with what you have.

Holy snot he slept through the night last night......
That was my Number one gripe-it was like having a baby in the house at night.

MAYBE things will get better when I get my fence in a few weeks, I am banking on that.
The sad thing is he is a loveable dog- its not like he's mean or unfriendly.

In any case-
I am learning(all) my lessons well.

What about grass being simply alive?

I have an alero- for six years now. It has 190,000 miles on it.
Overheats daily
Both Auto windows broke.
Runs like Fred Sanfords Truck.
Once upon a long time ago, I got screwed at the car dealer(before TMS and I knew better) so I still owe 4k on it. Its worth like 1k tops.

I just GOT a brand new vehicle(Eleanor).....who eats up my insurance budget(Over coverage) even though the payment is covered under an auto allowance.

WTF kind of reliable affordable vehicle can I replace it with? Brian has full Run of Eleanor, But either he hates her or is scared to drive her. (For instance he talked for 3 days about how glad he was I was the one who killed the spinner instead of him). With this new house and its lovely payment, I can't afford a second mustang.......
What would Chuck do?

Who cares what Chuck would do? He's in a slightly different financial bracket.

Make Eddie and your children your first priority, then the house. I'd dump that Alero and look for a more reliable used car that's about 4-5 years old. Don't gag, but I'd look at Honda and Toyota. I'm assuming you're planning to keep Eleanor.

When I read your original post and felt sorry for the greyhound. Poor dog. He came from a kennel and it's going to take time for him to become accustomed to living with your family.

I knew an older couple in San Diego who rescued greyhounds from kennels after they spent a few years racing in Tijuana. Those dogs had been so badly treated that they were skittish as heck and it was definitely a labor of love on the couple's part. They felt it was worth it.

About the grass--I'm still on the green side of it and I'm thankful for that. I think I still have a few more adventures in me.

Day two with what would the greyhound do patience- PATIENCE.....works.We moved him into our room, he lost the separation anxiety. That has helped a LOT.

Yes. Eleanor I am keeping. Till her wheels fall off likely.
We are at this point looking at everything but kia(No one I know has anything good to say)- I keep trying to share Eleanor, but he hasn't taken her out.Eleanor is a pleasure vehicle- some days she doesn't go out at all. That Alero....

Oh and who else works with a bunch of flipping idiots? I am sooooooooo tired of working my butt off and getting screwed for it. I have had my current job for 8 years, and its always been part time- till they hired an idiot and I have to pick up her slack. Now I am working full time for part time pay. I give it another week before I ask for an eval. Its complicated- Brian works for the same company, and he is over the girl making my life hades, but not me(for obvious reasons) so his immediate boss is who I have to ask for more money- because asking him to get me a raise is I think called nepotism(I got the job in the first place because of him).

My neighborhood is in the news- While its true, I didn't stress about it- I have been too busy getting my brand new house fixed: Plus I have a green thumb.

I have a Honda Civic beater. I can't knock Honda's. They're cheap to operate, great on gas, keep the oil changed and they run forever. It's a good, dependable second car. The best part is the beater saves my Mustang from the perils of the simpletons of the world.

Nothing can save Eleanor........I love her too much.
Which means I drive her too much.
The thing is- its a good thing its my car because its absolutely impractical.

I forgot- looking at everything BUT Chevy, Pontiac and Kia........Especially Chevy. Unless the Car Fairy dropped a z6 in my driveway.

I would love a fusion. BUT they have become little teenager ricer cars here. I have never seen an adult driving one around.

The greyhound continues to improve- I just have to keep remembering its like having a puppy- six months ago he was on a dog track. And (gasp) Eddie has mellowed out since getting a companion.
I will have my fence up within a month- things will be 200% better then.

I need a fricken truck to haul stuff in.
I have been hauling honest to God trees in my car to plant out here. And the nightmare of the four of us and shiny object that catch my eye- its like a clown car in there.

This is why I miss the bronco.

See? I spent too much time getting ticked.

AND work is looking up- always a bonus.

Years ago I landscaped a house without owning a truck. A friend always has one and if you comp them adequately they're always willing to help. If they're not available when you need them you can always rent a truck. I think that's a much more attractive alternative than buying one.

Yea, I hate trucks.

Women should never drive trucks-

And unless you use it for work around Bama- it means you are likely married to your cousin.

In other news- the new dog is still a butthole.

And I have begun to rethink how important it is to me to live in the (second)snootiest neighborhood in town just so I can say I do.
