I can now access TMS from my shore house because of neighboring network routers that are strong enough to send me a signal into my house !!! :worship: :worship:

I agree if nation wide wireless was available, i'd be in heaven.

It is illegal to steal internet based off of someone else's network. I believe a man is being prosecuted in Flordia for it right now.

It's a grey area. He hasn't been convicted yet, but the arguments for it being illegal under existing laws are quite strong. Some Info Here.

hehe, i do that when im at family members houses, their neighbors all have wireless. unfortunately, no matter HOW much i try, wireless never ever ever ever ever EVER works in our house. heck, my cell phone reception dies exactly as you step onto out porch :bang:

nationwide wrieless how perfect would that be?

one question for all you smarter-at-computers-that-arin people. whats the deal with all this "intel Centrino Mobile wireless" computers i hear about. what makes them so special? do they like, get internet from satellites or something? is that how they are totally mobile, or do you still need to be at a "hot spot" for it to work?

My dell is Intel Centrino , I think it is better for wireless activity and the more programs you open, the faster the processor runs at. My laptop is rated at 1.8 GHz, but when many programs are opened up it can run up to speeds of 3.3Ghz.

I hope I don't get in trouble, I thought it was free air man, hey if I can access it I will, but if you don't want other people to access, set up an SSID password or else people like myself will try to access it. and yes I am a cheater, FREE internet.

Intel Centrino is marketing more than anything else. Just a certain combination of motherboard, cpu, and wireless technology.

It does not make a 1.8 GHz laptop run at 3.3 Ghz.

Actually I had mobile internet in my car Via Bluetooth from PC to Cell phone, and Cell acted as modem. I used it at work mostly, just toyed with in car as its obvioulsy not safe, lol. Was great for road trips when you werent driving. Was only 56k speeds but good enough to browse forums and check email.

this is not a good idea, or a good pic, but i was messing around in IRC(internet relay chat) one for gamers. Connection never dropped.

Uh thats a good deal as here they measure the infomation used and then stick it too you big time even with a wireless go any where air card with its own antenni deal even then that here would be $ 100.00 for unlomited per month usage too expensive.

There are ways around data usage fees. Verizon had a plan like that, but you could jack into the phone as if it were a voice call and only use those minutes, no data charges. Nights/weekends still free.

Web site called Howard Forums (I think) that has all this info. Used to do this with a LG VX6000. Worked great. Slow, but effective.
