Gas prices

Picking up my first Mustang at the weekend and got thinking about fuel costs.

Here in the UK the cost of 1 litre of regular unleaded 'petrol' costs an average of £1.339 which works out, at current conversion rates on the dollar, at around $7.74 for 1 US gallon.

So, what's the typical costs in the USA?

Well, I'm in California, which is among the highest in country and premium is around the 4.00 mark right now.

Chicagoland area here. I just filled up Tuesday for $3.53 and it dropped to $3.34 today. Premium is usually 20 cents or so more.

LOL. it is what is. either pay it or don't was my point. $2, $3 or $5 doesn't matter if it needs gas you gotta put it in or walk.

Truer words were never spoken. Semi-unfortunately.

I'm in Germany, but luckily get gas on base and not the economy. On base SUper Plus is close to $4/gal. Prices locally are about 1.40€/liter.

Certainly sounds like there has been a big jump in US gas prices then from when I was in Miami a little under 5 years ago. Can't remember what it cost but was pleasantly surprised at the time by how cheap it was to fill the hired Mustang.

Half or less.

However, tonight my 30-gallon worth of 93-octane gasoline is going to cost $2.11 per gallon.
