What is your pain level at the gas pump that would make you change your mind NOT to buy a GT?

Gas prices don't matter, as the Mustang will not be my daily driver.

Umm...

A large number of us already have ours... so none of those choices apply.

It might have had a chance to influence my decision if this had been an issue a month ago , but now that I have it I will NEVER give it up Prices will just cut back on driving as much.

Hopefully mine will only be my daily driver until the winter (exploring options).

Really though... I don't think the gas mileage is bad at all. There are a lot of vehicles that do worse (ask any F150 owner).

I drive mine every day..... Any chance I get. I don't care about prices of gas as long as I'm having fun. It's still cheaper than shooting alot of my guns I own. Since I got my mustang I haven't even went to shoot, and I used to go every weekend. Now all that money goes for stuff for my car. I LOVE IT!!!!

i dont really understand the need to choose the GT as most likely to get horrible mileage. I doubt v6 owners do better than i do on most occasions. i avg 21 with my work commute and i can get up to 27 on the highway so I dont think a v6 would have helped a whole lot. If gas prices were really that high and I was that concerned. I dont think i would consider a v6 either ... id probably be looknig at something that got 20 or 30 mpg better not 3mpg.

Gas prices won't bother me 1 ioda. When I get my car, it is for weekends only. I use my company car for my everyday driving. Nothing will stop me from getting my car. .

My 'Stang will be a daily driver, except in bad weather...espically snow. I'm not going to buy a car just to look at 5 days out of the week!

That being said, I voted for $4. I love the new Mustang to death (I dream of her every night), but I can't afford to pay her payments, manage her upkeep, AND keep her belly full if gas keeps going up.

Looking at a 1991 Honda Accord as both a beater and a gas saver. They do OK in the snow?

Speaking of good snow cars, this may sound crazy, but my old 1991 Saturn SL2 kicked HINEY in the snow. I drove her through three blizzards and I was always passing by SUVs on the road. I don't think I ever had to drive slower than 30 MPH in even the worst of conditions. It was a lot of fun to drive in the snow as well. Just find an empty lot when it's snowing, rip that emergency brake up, and break the rear end out. Got around 26 to 35 MPG as well.

I drive mine on a limited basis and only around town. She gets real thirsty under these conditions. Computer is reading 14.9 average MPG which borderline bad. Not horrible, but bad. My Escape with a v-6 under the same conditions however, isn't much better.

I'm looking at a on/off road bike for around town commuting. $15 a month for gas sounds a LOT better to me right now than $40 a week.

Our GT is not a daily driver so it really doesn't matter. My regular driver is a 93 Escort which has over 100,000 miles, goes through anything including lots of snow, gets 35 mpg in town and it is indestructible.

Well, I'm currently driving a GMC Yukon so the Mustang will be an econocar by comparison.

That said, these gas prices are killing me. It cost me $65 to fill the Yukon today, and it wasn't even full. The pump wouldn't go higher than that.

and by the way....the v6 doesnt really get better gas milage than a GT....the GT is what 17 or 18 to 25....and the v6 is what 19 to 27?? not much of a difference there. ive been granny shifting (and doing some hard acceleration of course) and still averaging 21mpg....sooo i havent thought twice about getting the GT im happy with it. although i though what if i swallowed my pride and got a prius....but oh well. the gas companies r making it so that this time next uear we'll think $2.50/gal is a steal soo were never seeing anything less than about $2.30 ever again...... :notnice: stupid government
