What are the gas prices where you live and how much will you be paying per month (est.) for the new 05?

Where's the Swammi? Gas prices are raising so high, only a real deal psychic could answer that question.

Assume they'll stay where they are right now...

Here, they've been around 2.04 for the middle grade, and 2.14 for premium.

I'd be getting premium, so it'll be about 28 per visit. With about 2 visits a week. I'm expecting to pay close to 150 a month... or more.

Ok, I've said this a few times....marking my first in this forum.

Bottled water costs $1.00 from the vending machine, right? People will buy that stuff daily without a second thought.

Since each bottle has 20oz.......6 bottles is close to a gallon 6 X 20 = 120 (there are 128 in a gallon).

People will pay $6.00 for 120oz of WATER!

People complain about gas that is $2-3, but will pay $6 a gallon for water.

People wouldn't complain as much if CNN(and the local wannabe CNN station) didn't run a story every 5 mins either.

I get it for free........brb *goes to neigbor's water hose fills bottles gets his daily ration, and leaves it on his neighbors tab  *.

He doesn't appreciate it when I do that in front of his face......so I gotta go at 2-3 am.

Most people will pay stupid prices for it though.

√- for flawed logic.

I, as with most people i suppose, don't drink water at the rate my car drinks gas.

Regular is 2.49 right now where i live and i can get water for 25 cents a gallon. most of the time i just get it from my fridge door. Gas prices don't bother me much because it only amounts to an extra hundred or two dollars a year. you shouldn't be buying a $25,000 car if you can' afford an extra $200 for gas.

Bought one, broke in about 3 weeks.

And filters don't catch everything. Maybe you're fine drinking tap water, but here near New Orleans, we get all of our's from the Mississippi River. And who wants to drink that slop?

I don't complain about gas prices.

Here's the problem with your argument......my statement is a comparision of how much you OVER pay for a product per gallon......not comparing overall quantity.

Being in the business world......I see people LIVE off of vending machines and gas station snack food. Of course Walmart, Winn Dixie, Sams, Cosco will beat it........because you buy in bulk.

I got friends that buy soda .85(.92 with tax) from a gas station daily, or from vending machines for a $1.00. The point is........THEY over pay for that crap daily....yet they complain about a raise in gas prices. Trust me.......I know people that grab AT Least 2 sodas($1 a piece) daily.

$1.89 here, I don't and can't complain.

I make my own coffee, bring water in my own bottles, and drink gatorade on occations (make gallons at a tiem from the powder)

I'm good at saving money where I can, but I can't with gas. I need gas for my car, and I need my car for work. It's rediculous that it's this expensive now. I'm beginning to think they should just drill in Alaska and we keep it for ourselves, and not let anyone else have it! Or just take all of Iraqs...

I know it's greedy, but hey, we have the most cars per person than any other country, so doesn't that mean we need more gas than everyone else?

Also there are stats that show the US has one of the lowest.....if not the lowest gas rates in the world.

But right now for us, it's very high. I'm used to seeing diesel being 20 cents over premium. right now diesel is 1.70, and premium is in the 2.09 - 2.20 range. (this is just where I live...)

Thats what we use around the house... works very well indeed...

At least we have the little plastic thing with the filter in it, you can replace.

It isnt really about the cost... its just that it shouldnt go too far above what we all are paying... I think its ok if it goes up a bit per year, but lets face it, were being gouged at the moment....

Probably be paying $2.75+ a gallon by the end of the year, the way things are going.... (Recently its about 2.25 for regular unleaded)

Ford is saying that the new engine will run on regular just fine. Why would you use higher octane gas when octane is just a combustion inhibitor? A high-compression engine needs higher octane gas and older engines with buildup in the combustion chamber may need it, but a brand-new engine rated for regular octane gets no benefit.

Not trying to jump anybody, but this notion that higher octane helps performance in a regular engine is a misnomer. High-octane gas helps performance if the engine has a high compression. If you put a supercharger on the engine, then it may need high octane and racing fuel has a very high rating because the engines run very high compressions.
