Favourite Cruising Song
#25
I listen to two main varieties of songs:
HipHop and Trance
For hardcore driving around and for cruising, or when Im looking good in the car... () I play mainly rap like Game's Documentary CD. Trance...I listen to all kind of it for spirited driving (ie. woohoo! ) and also just long quiet drives. I have some songs i've actually recorded along with my cousin.

For a cruising songs, I have to go with "Summertime" - Sublime, "Little Wing" - Stevie Ray Vaughn, or "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" - The Allman Brothers.

When cruising I like it mellow, otherwise I get pumped and don't really cruise any more
So far I found The Beatles to be great for cruising around. It sounds awesome and clean on the factory Shaker.
I just got Killswitch Engage's current album (The End of Heartache), and it's a good CD for spirited driving.

While I love all sorts of different styles of music, I must say that, being an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) DJ, I find that 90% of the music I play in my Bettie Page is electronic of some sort.
House, Progressive, Trance, Breaks, Drum & Bass, Dub Reggae...whatever.
Say what you will about dance music (not real music, repetitive, devoid of soul, blah, blah, blah), but the neverending beat is perfect for driving. Feels like you're in a video game.
Also, I listen to a number of dance music internet radio streams, and I am constantly recording extended DJ mix sets. I have thousands of these sets in mp3 format on my computer.
So, having a 6-disc in-dash changer capable of playing mp3-encoded CDs has been a blessing!
I burned about 10 CDs with countless mixes on them for my 540 mile trip from Cincinnati to Maryland (after purchasing my car), and I seriously only got through about 1 1/2 of them.

That just means you haven't experienced the joy of the shaker. AFTER you turn the stupid speed volume off of course. The sweet sound of the car grows old after a little while. Then you need something to listen to.
