Favorite hobbies

Modding or racing are hobbies, but what else?

I'm finishing up an HH-60D Nighhawk model...not the best at model building but it's pretty cool to do. Previously I did a competition orange '07 GT500 and '92 'vert. The GT500 was kind of disappointing in some areas because the directions weren't too clear in some points. Same with the Nighthawk model and putting the props in for the ESSS wings...but anyway.

I play and record music. Played for 9 years, guitar, and 7 or 8 for bass. Recently bought a Hofner 500/1 Beatle bass. It's awesome. And even though it's like pulling teeth sometimes I like reading. Preferably Tom Clancy. Rereading Rainbow Six (favorite book) and onto The Bear and the Dragon after.

Motorcycle touring is mine now. Was all things Trek, and I'm still into airplane spotting on a casual basis. But I'm hooked on long distance motorcyclin', it's a blast!

# 1 above anything else is spending time with my 2 1/2 year old daughter and my wife.
After that..... Watching footbal and occasionaly nascar, collecting diecast 'stangs, listening to music (mostly hard/metal), collecting cd's/dvd's/blu-ray's.

for your daughter. My girlfriend, when we get married, want's four kids. I've always wanted zero...and somehow figured two would be good. I'd like daughters, have names already too. Not to mention the fact that when they bring their boyfriends over...it'll be fun

Where do you get your die-cast from? Toy stores around my area USED TO have them. But when KB Toys closed Toys 'R Us stopped selling all the good stuff. And seemingly only only sells Autoart and other companies I can't afford

oh, and Amie, you reminded me, I've been helping a friend teach the guitar club at our former high school and a song we're playing for the spring concert is "Amie." It's pretty fun to play a bluegrass bassline for it too

I get 'em anywhere I find them. Same thing happened here when KB closed. Our T'R'Us has been carrying Shelby Collectibles brand lately wich are pretty decent priced. I too can't afford many of the expensive ones, those prices are crazy. I have a couple Autoarts that I HAD to have but got them on ebay at decent prices.

My newest Hobby is Collecting & Restoring 8-Track Tapes & equipment. I have got real good at restoring those bad boys real Quick. They are way Cool in my Old Cars.

Go figure, I was a Cassette man back in the Day before Cd's. Could not stand Eight Tracks. Now I love em.

I take something that does not work and with a little TLC I got Music. The sound quality blows away my high Tech IPOD. It just sounds RETRO can't explain it.

BUT HERE’S A TIDBIT FOR FREE:

THE 8 NOBLE TRUTHS OF THE 8-TRACK MIND
0) Understanding one’s fate leads to greater acceptance.
1) State of the art is in the eye of the beholder.
2) Society’s drive is on attaining rather than experiencing.
3) In less than optimum circumstances, creativity becomes all the more important.
4) Progress is too often promises, promises to get you to buy, buy.
5) “New” and “improved” don’t necessarily mean the same thing.
6) “Naïve” is not a dirty word.
7) In seeking perfection has the obvious been overlooked?
8) Innovation alone will not replace beauty.∞

Does sleep count as a hobby?

I used to go to a local paintball field every weekend, but I haven't been in a while. I miss it.
