For all you parents out there, do you allow it?

I've got a 17 year old daughter that drove my Fox while I was still modding her Bronco for her. She put a dent in the rear quarter panel. As far as the other cars they are manuals. She doesn't know how to drive a manual and she's not about to learn on one of those.

What kind of mods were you doing?

My 11 year old daughter has already made it quite clear that she wants my Mustang when she turns 16.

She's very very disappointed that she's getting mommy's Camry instead.

I think teens need wheel time with a nice slow car before getting to drive a car with more then 200hp.

I've been driving mine since I was a teen. Teach them to be responsible, and actually teach them to drive.

I don't have kids, but I occasionally let my gf drive it cuz I know it makes her day...or when I'm trashed, I let her drive.

Have you always been responsible, respectful of other drivers, careful on the roads with it?

Didn't think so.

You might say she's turned a few heads while I've had it, #vroomscreech

Exactly, which proves Flagstang's point. Nine of ten teenagers can't drive a Prius safely. They don't need something as high-powered as a Mustang to start with.

its a poor idea to give kids that much power... when you teach kids to use a gun you don't have over a full auto assault riffle.. If a parent is smart and cares about a child they will do things to protect the child instead of trying to be the "cool parent"..

also keep in mind 90% of the stories posted about mustangs being wrecked are of stupid kids doing stupid things. The other 10% are drunks or morons.

My parents didn't want me to get a mustang, they wanted me to get something "senseable" but my grandfather shot that down very quickly, and I now have my current mustang.

9 out of 10 *people* can't drive safely. Teens or not, most people can't drive and that is what causes accidents. Again, just teach them to drive.

GENIUS! I will have my 17 year old drive mine any chance I get. It is going to be his one day. He begs me to take it to school. I simply explained why and after a year of him taking his fox to school he now understands... Door dings lot crashes.... Simply not going to happen.
