Yup. Just make DARN sure you don't forget and leave it on an incorrect setting and shoot a bunch of pictures in a different light - ugh, what a mess.

They're easy to change on the D50, just hold down the button with "WB" next to it and roll the thumb wheel.

After the lastest firmware revision it is pretty instant. Before I can say "one-one thousand" I have turned on the camera and taken a picture. My main reason for buying this camera was because of my familiarity (is that even a word) with Minolta products and that the only thing I would need to buy for this camera was a different flash. However, that being said, if I didn't have Minolta gear, the Nikon D50 sure had caught my attention.

PS. All of my car pics were taken with my Maxxum 7D.

John the reason i was asking is I read the minolta takes 2.6 seconds to boot. i thought that was an insane amount of time.
