I've lived in Texas for 10 years. Two years in El Paso , 7 in Seminole and 2 in Justin. Moved to Justin because our daughters were in college in Denton. Texas is nice but everything is not bigger and better. lol.

I think I have been in 13 states. Lived in some and just traveled through others. Before moving here when visiting my daughter at college I would pass by the Texas Motor Speedway. Never thought I would be living nearly next door to it. If I lived in the back of the neighborhood, I could walk to it.

Hope you enjoy your visit here.

Thanks for the welcome. Rudy's will be catering the wedding reception and they will have the brisket and pulled pork. We will check out downtown Denton tomorrow and then who knows.

Glad you are enjoying your visit to Texas. I know it is quite a change from PA. I lived in Dover, PA for a couple of years. I was glad to leave there. Too much snow. That is what I like about Texas, very little snow.

So I went to Dallas today to see the JFK memorial and the depository museum tour. I highly recommend it and it was very informative. So I head home tomorrow but enjoyed my brief stay here in good old Texas. Overall no bad experiences and everyone we've met were very nice and hospitable!

People in the South tend to be that way. Now we'll talk sheet about you behind your back if your an A hole when you leave, but face to face we'll try to be really nice to you, and hospitable. Hold doors open, bow our heads, yes sir no sir, etc.

If you're acting like the typical know-it-all smart **** yankee you're going to get a smile and polite behavior while you're here, but when you walk away we
're going to slam your **** and talk crap about you, LOL.

Sorry man, I didn't mean it like that. I was just speaking in general terms from what we see when people from up north come down here. I'm sure you're a good dude, I've always liked you.

Dallas had a really hard time after the assassination. It was just known as that place where they shot JFK and its people were down on themselves even though they had nothing to do with it.

Cowboys we're started in 1960 of course and by 1965 Tom Landry and Tex Schramm had them as contenders. The people of Dallas and of Texas who didn't have anything else to root for gained pride in their community again in some part due to the Cowboys.

Every town has their reasons for supporting their team and while that generation is gone that's where the roots began.

We didn't want to be the state where JFK got shot. It was a stigma unfortunately put upon us.

Yes I could sense from the tour that it deeply affected the people of Dallas and Texas and of course it would any city/state including Philly believe it or not.
Just another tragedy in a long line of horrible events in our country as well as the world!

Must suck to be back up there in that turd bowl after being in the South for a few days with good, polite, nice folks. I figure you'll be back soon, or maybe even move down here somewhere soon as you can. Good food, good drinks, good weather, good people, not much to complain about in the South.

Well say what you will but I'd stack good old PA up against any state and especially my area. Love it here and will more than likely die here.

Despite what I say about Pennsyltucky, it is truly a beautiful state. I've been to every corner, and except for my home state of NJ, it's the state in which I've been in the most. I'm very close to the Delaware River and the Poconos, not far from the beautiful Lehigh Valley, went to college in the southwestern corner of the state, have long-deceased relatives from the coal regions near Johnstown, some of whom still had outhouses and coal stoves in the 60's. The Amish country in and around Lancaster is unique, slow paced, and historic. The scenery everywhere, especially in the fall, is unreal. Pennsylvania is a very inviting state and if you know where to visit, a great place for driving.

I do believe that Pennsy has more to offer than any other state I've visited.
