Denton Texas
Ok my Texas members I'm heading to Denton Texas for a wedding and I will only have about two days to sightsee. I will be there May 19th thru the 24th what are your suggestions. I'm not a Dallas Cowboys fan but I thought I'd like to take the stadium tour wearing my Eagles shirt of course! I would also like to see the Texas Motor Speedway. Are either of these ideas worth it? Any other suggestions that don't require too many hours of travel? Be gentle...
Hi. I live very close, practically next door, to the Texas Motor Speedway. Went to a race last year. It would be cool to see if you like that stuff. I don't know if you could get in to see the track. I've lived here for almost two years. Don't know much about Dallas other than traffic is terrible going there. If you have watched the tv show Fast and Loud, you might be interested in visiting the Gas Monkey Bar and Grill. My husband and I have been there once, it was cool. If you like baseball, Arlington is not too far. Ranger Stadium my be interesting to see.
Billy bob's in ft worth. It's kinda mandatory for visitors. Try to get a tour of TMS. It's interesting. Find a gun range that rents firearms. That will make your day.
Edit: I should disclose that I've never been to billy bob's.

I like Joe T. Garcia's for meskin food down in the Fort Worth stockyards. Just a few blocks south of Billy Bobs.
Of course you've also got the JFK memorial and 6th floor book depository in downtown Dallas if you make it that way.
You can also Google best BBQ in Texas and an article from Texas monthly magazine will come up. They do an annual list of the 50 best in Texas. You can see if any are close to you. I think Pecan Lodge or something like that is the most known and highest ranking but there will be others in DFW area.

I have not been to Babe's yet. I've been wanting to since I heard about it on The Best Thing I Ever Ate tv show. I love me some goooood fried chicken.
Who's your baseball team? I was a Cubs fan but got tired of them losing and got bored with baseball. Now I'm into NASCAR. Brad Keselowski #2 Miller Lite is my guy.

Shout out from Denton.
Check out TMS, Cowboys stadium, catch a rangers game...all good ideas. If you have or are willing to rent a boat, spend some time at one of the various lakes.
Have some fun at Top Golf if you've never been.
Some bars to check out if you like beer and need to waste some time in Denton: Oak Street Drafthouse or East Side. You could also check out one of the many restaurants on or around the square. My favorite is probably Rooster's.

It's about a 2 hour drive south from Denton, but the PDRA Nationals will be at the Texas Motorplex from the 19th through the 21st.

It's a shame you missed the Coffee and Cars meet in Plano last week. Over 3,000 cars showed up.
