cheapest way to ship wheel/tire combo
#1
forgive me, I don't know where to place this topic. Anyway I sold my GT upgrade wheels of ebay. Now I need to find the cheapest way to send them. I'm getting around $110 from the three main carrier's(ups, dhl, fedex). Is it worth getting a freight cost. I am asking because to get attraction I told bidders they pay first $50 and I will cover the rest. Wow I didn't plan on eating $50 in shipping cost.
I guess it doesn't help that we are on to opposite side of the U.S.
any help will be helpfull

Cheapest you will find is FedEx Ground. I used to ship wheels and tire combos and it was about $25-$30 each.
Or call the airlines like American which I work for by the way and ask for freight costs.

I just shipped 4 tires and rims by FedEx ground from SC to Maine. It cost me $75. I had $125 covered in my ad. It really depends on the zip code you are shipping too. The tires weighed 42 lbs each if that helps you any.
Also, I took a large card board box (a refrigerator box) and made circles to cover each side of the rims, put them in heavy duty plastic bags and taped them up good to protect them.
I based my $125 cost on shipping from SC to a California zip code, which would have cost me around that $125 amount.
DHL & FedEX ground were the cheapest ways I found.
