Blogging

My boss has asked me to start a blog about what I do... I've never blogged before... where do I start? What site should host it?

www.blogger.com seems to be a widely used one. I jsut clicked on it and dang if it wasnt apart of google apperently, i just logged in with my gmail account.

I havent ever really blogged, wanted to but just havent had the time. If you dont mind, in your findings and such, update this thread so those of us interested can maybe learn something in teh process.

It's just like MCTC - but talking to yourself.

(which happens a lot recently)

Well here it is. I made my 2nd post today. It was even a little automotive related!

It all comes down to having something to write about, telling a good story, and having thoughts to add. I used blogger and I'm still learning how to use it well, but it seem to be pretty good. And for only have two posts, I'm getting quite a few views!

blogger.com is what i use. its pretty simple and even the basic layouts work well. there's plenty of customization if you want it, and they've partnered with google for their ads, so you can even make ad revenue on your page if you want to.

I personally like wordpress.com. I find the templates and ease of use better than blogger.

Edit: Actually I just took a look at Blogger.com and creating a blog is a lot better than the last time I tried this site.

Well, for the first time I've managed to make a post for three weeks in a row. It seems my posts are about 2-4 minute reads. From my experience on TMS I find that if a post is really long, it will turn potential readers away. I want people to be read, think, comment, then go back to what they were doing within 10 mintes.

Is that a good thing? Or do you think I should make longer posts?
