Well, three weeks ago my wife and I found out that she is pregnant again. She took those at-home tests and that showed positive. The next day she went to our Primary care physician to find out for sure by a blood test. That came back as positive also. So we immediately scheduled an appointment with her 'woman doctor' so we could start the whole process and see how far along she is.

Yesterday was the appointment. My wife told me I did not have to go, so I went to work(so I could save my vacation time for when the baby is born). I get a call from my wife and she is crying. The nurse practitioner said that when she took the ultrasound, she could not find anything inside the uterus. And told my wife that she is having an ectopic pregnancy.(click to find out what that is) Right away I leave work and head home.

When I get to the doctor's office my wife is giving blood so they could see if she really was pregnant. When she get's done we head over to another office that also does ultrasounds. All day my wife was a mess. She has been crying and not really enjoying life. Well, after waiting around for two hours we finally get in to get the second test done. I am there watching the screen as the girl is looking at the fallopian tubes. She can't see anything in there and neither can I. Now she goes in and checks the uterus. And low and behold, there it is. Clear as day. What a relief.

I have never been through so much stress in my life. When I start to talk to my wife about this she said that her dfoctor didn't come in to the room and look at the original ultrasound to give her opinion. She took the NP's word for it. This whole heartache could have been avoided if the NP would have known what she was doing and if the darn doctor would have just looked at the screen. Anyways all is fine and everyone is doing well. I never thought a second would be this stressful.

Sorry for the long story, I feel better now.

Glad everything went ok...

With my wife when she got pregnant we didn't ahve insurance so we didn't go to the docter til she was 6 months pregnant when we finaly got insurance...

Everyone was like oh you shouldn't do that you don't know if everything is fine and i was like well what did they do in the other thousands of years before the doctors? same as what we are doing. not that i say don't use docters, the less chance of things going wrong the better but my little girl turned out perfect and we didn't do any of the regular pregnacy things...i think like 50%of my wifes diet was fast food before we had our baby. not that i say don't eat healthy, but it worked out fine without doing al the mumbo jumbo.

Yeah thats my story....

How many kids do oyu have now btw?

Glad it all worked out! It sounds like you're a great husband, I'll bet you're a great dad too! Nice to hear from all these Mustang loving dads. You all sound like good people. It's not easy to tell about someone when all you see is a screen name and avatar-these stories are nice.

First reports from my wifes pregnancy and we had that same scare. Initial ultrasounds checking for that is not where incompitence should be put into play. :nono:

Glad everything turned out ok for ya.

Since when do you get ultrasounds so early?
Back in the day we had to wait six months.

Then they had my girl as a boy and then my boy as a girl.
Even though I "knew" better.

Fun fact- the sicker you are the more likely its a chick in there.

No kidding?
With my son I just got fat and miserable and wanted watermelon every day.

With my daughter I lost 20 pounds from throwing up all day every day in the beginning-then I gained 25 & I weighed less when she was born than I did before she was thought of. I puked all day and couldn't eat a thing- literally. I lived on OJ and saltines because everything else made me puke.

i think the sickness is proportional to the amount of evil in the bloodstream of the child. just ask my mom how sick SHE was in the nine months prior to my glorious entry to the world....

anyhow, glad to hear its not anything bad
