We rode the batman ride TIMES in a row.SUPERCOOL!

Then we tried:
THUNDER RIVERĀ® [36" minimum height / 42" without adult] an Intamin river rapids ride with 12-passenger circular boats, you may get soaked. 2 tunnels and a waterfall finale highlight the ride. The observation deck near the Rabun Gap railroad station provides a good view of the ride, or the Kodak picture spot to the right of the Entrance/Exit overhead sign shows the wettest portion (under a waterfall). Because of the random nature you can come out completely wet or perfectly dry. This was one of the first river rapids rides built and has been re-worked several times to give a wetter ride. There's a very natural-looking wide river course with waves, currents and slow sections surrounded by fake rocks and boulders. It's not a concrete spillway like newer rapids rides, in fact it's the largest water ride at any Six Flags park. On colder days in spring and fall the waterfall finale may be turned off but other sections can get a rider quite wet. SFOG just recently installed water cannons (25Ā¢ per shot) on the observation platform near the Rabun Gap railroad station, but they are some of the weakest I've ever seen - SuperSoakers would be better. But they are a big improvement over the awful ones first used in 2000.

SPLASHWATER FALLSĀ® [36" minimum height / 42" without adult] a shoot-the-chutes flume ride with 5-row 20-passenger boats, you might get soaked. There is no splash protection on the bridge crossover so watch out as you exit the boat and cross the bridge. The lift hill was replaced in 1997 (now chain driven rather than a wooden conveyor) along with new station transport systems (watch out for the big jolting lift as you re-enter the station). In 2003 a "splash restrictor" was attached to the front of the boats, now on a really cold day the splash can be adjusted so it does not really engulf the bridge - just a light spritzing instead. On hot Summer days it can be adjusted to be wide open, drenching everyone around.

Two in a row.....then a small break to regain my composure..
then two in a row more.
We wound up riding it like ten times.
NO ONE was there yesterday. You could exit then immediately re-enter.

That ride is almost as good as Dueling Dragons in Orlando.

Hey April. This was in GA, right? If so then I am going to suggest that one to our Church the next time they want a Six Flags trip. I've been to Six Flags over St Louis 3 times. The last time stinked.

We had like 8 hours to ride but it was soo crouded that we were only able to ride 3 rides. The Ninja was a 1 hour wait, the Mr Freeze was 1 1/2 hour & the Batman was a 2 hours. And we never did make it to the Cyclone.

God I miss Oprayland. We used to go there every year & nothing was a cool as the Choas (not even the Hangman). One year we went to Libertyland. We stayed like 3 hours, maybe & then left because we were bord.

I'd bet your preference would have been Dueling Banjos, right?

There was literally noone there before noon and after 3......Those 3 hours smelled- I spent 1.5 of them on line for mindbender.
After the crowds fled- the park was ours for the taking.

Amusement parks are my thing- but I try to do them in off peak season- Universal in Winter, Six Flags during the week...So I can be spoiled and not wait in line.

After driving home this morning, and walking a zillion miles yesterday..I went to my mothers and fell asleep promptly..oops.

We have been going to six flags once a month. Favorites would have to be the scorcher, and the superman. The batman is pretty cool as well. For older coasters the scream machine will suprise the crap out of you, I ride it every time we go as well. Havent road the cyclone yet, but it is gonna be one of the first coasters I ride next time. For a really awesome ride, hit the superman or scorcher at night.

I haven't been to 6 Flags for a couple years, and I'm really craving the rollercoaster rides. Glad you had fun!
