Anyone here into hunting?

Here's the buck I shot this year. Just got back yesterday from a great trip to Montana. Tenderloins on the BBQ tonight!!! Stopped at the new Cabelas in Post falls Idaho as well, which was cool as I'd never been in one before. The Cabelas in Lacey Wa. just opened yesterday. That's about 50 miles from me. If any of you hunted this year, let's see your harvest.

Very nice buck! I haven't been able to afford it lately but, I'll be back in the woods as soon as I can though.

Thanks Jimmy, it's my nicest one (so far), so I was pretty pumped. There were four in my party and we all got nice deer. had a blast. I didn't mention that I'm also a taxidermist as a hobby. I'm mounting all four deer we took so I've been busy the last couple days, but alas, back to "work" tomorrow. Good hunting, Carl

Beautiful buck man!!! I have been dying for some really good deer jerky for years now. I grampa has this ridiculously good recipe that he used to send me back when he hunted. It was heavenly....my mouth is watering thinking about it.

Yes indeedy, "what everyone said"! The tenderloins were awesome! The jerky and sausage takes a while to get from the butcher but is worth the wait. Every time I eat deer it brings back the memories of a great hunt with friends as well. good luck this weekend Scott, let us know how it goes.

My friend got himself a buck today!!!! Kinda funny actuallly. He's up in NC and calls about the nice old buck he just scored. He propped it up and put a cigar in its mouth and took a picture. Looks I might get some deer jerky after all

Lots of wind, nothing on the food plots since they were feeding at night (full moon). Only thing I saw was a small bobcat and he wasnt worth the price of the 7mm shell i would have put through him.

Thanks for the report Scott, That's how it goes sometimes. Better luck next time. I live in the NW, and I met my uncle (who lives in La.) in Montana for this hunt. He had never hunted there before and he loved it. Now he says I've got to visit him next year during hunting season so he can return the favor and show me how you southern boys do it. I hope I can do it, sounds fun.
