Just came across this thread.I have always been a gun nut. Bought my first one a 22 single shot rifle back when I was in grade school. Our 6th grade teacher taught shooting after school.Mr. Carey was a WW2 vet and had a lot of good stories about shooting the enemy.Since then [50 years]I have owned 100s of guns, when we moved to Florida last year I sold all my long guns and blued guns but kept the SS and throw away guns.As a retired tool and die maker I just love the feel and workmanship of weapons.I carry a Smith 637/38 special only weighs 15 oz. or my Smith Chiefs Special 45 semi.I have all three of these 45, 40,and 9mm.Also a 629dx 44mag, a 500 mag,a 686/357 mag and a RugerMK2 Target 22 SS.When we lived in Maryland we had a 8 acre farm surrounded by several hundred acres of woods so I would shoot whenever I wanted to.Here in Fl. we have to go to a shooting range which is no fun for me.

in other gun related talk, I'm thinking of picking up a GSG-5

I'll have to sell one of my black powder revolvers and my side by side shotgun, but I've never shot either revolver, and i've only shot the double barrel once. I never have an occasion to shoot it, and also, the GSG-5 shoots 22lr, so ammo is DIRT cheap

I've been to the store in Ft. Worth. Dirt must be expensive in Tarrant County.

That's what I was thinking......it "looks scary" so the nuts in charge out there will probably ban it!

I was looking at that gun as well...being a .22 I imagine it would be fun to shoot....or at least put down a rain of hell on a squirrel...

I would reccommend using an 15 gallon acetlyne bomb, as it is soooo much more satisfying.
On a similar note a 40 gig western digital HDD will stop a 124 grain 9mm hollow point at a range of 20 feet, even after the HDD had crashed! .308 is a different story altogether.

That ain't no lie! They have a Sig P220 Compact in two tone there that I want. I just don't have the $699 they want for it though.

The fact that its a .22 rimfire is WHY its legal here

Bec its rimfire, I can have all the "Evil black rifle" features I want. I could get a vertical fore grip, a folding stock, a flash hider (which doesnt work on this gun bec of the preinstalled fake silencer) a pistol grip and a detachable magazine.

So as long as mag capacity stays at 10 rounds or less and I have a 16" barrel, its alright for all of those things to be on a semiauto rimfire weapon.

Theres a bunch of people with em here in california already. I joined a california gun forum to make sure

I almost went hardcore and built a CA legal AR, but I have a keltec, so I decided why bother. besides, the GSG is waaaay less of a financial investment

Until someone commits a crime with one and then they will try to ban .22 rimfire guns....just watch. They are trying to eat away at 2nd ammendment rights one gun at a time....if they are ever successful they will then go after baseball bats and kitchen knives....after all, why should honest people be able to defend themselves or enjoy a hobby?

See there is one problem....10 rounds or less....the radicals have already impacted your hobby....it's a royal Pain in the butt to constantly reload a 10 round mag at the range....even a 30 round goes VERY quickly when target shooting but God forbid honest people be able to have a higher capacity mag. Pretty soon you'll have to register and stand in line for a rationing of ONE bullet so that you can go to the range once a month and shoot ONCE. It's like a wedge in the door...once they get that first wedge in they constantly pick and pick until they get more and more control.

I almost went hardcore and built a CA legal AR, but I have a keltec, so I decided why bother. besides, the GSG is waaaay less of a financial investment
What does a "CA legal AR" look like? Pink with Barbie stickers and shoots spit *****?
