I wanna add I came by the knife fish dishonest- It was teeny when I bought it in Tuscaloosa. I paid like $5 for it, and was told it ate fish flakes.
Imagine my surprise when I woke up and all his tank mates were eaten. I had to get it a bigger tank- now its a foot long and goes through 30 some feeders per week. Beautiful fish though.

Russian Blue:

Mines name is Agatha- and she is trained to act like a miniature cat. Very good pets to have- bonus, my husband is freaked out by her and her long possum tail. This isn't her.

Yes, we have a large over 4' long Iguana. (anybody want him) We have had him over 10 years and I guess I would say he is part of the family. We really would like to find him a good home. I called the science center and they thought about it and then called me back and said they did'nt need the responsibility of another Iguana. He started out as my sons, but that lasted about 5 minutes. My son is now 17 and I am the one that gets to take care of the Lizard.

We also have a Siberian Huskey and a Beagle. I will try to find some pictures to post later.

My iguana passed. I thought I was going to be all supercool like Jimmy Buffetts book- I even named him Hector. I don't know WTF happened, he just upped and died. He was just a baby- maybe I didn't take care of it right. No more for me.

They are very hard to maintain when very young. Someone told us one time that alot die when they are babies. We bought this lizard at a yard sale of all places.

He was six months- I got it as a hatchling. I was angry- I had visions of Sara Connor Terminator lizards in my head.

My wife had an oversexed Love bird that masterbated with regularity, and a couple of fish that prefer to be hand-feed....

Well, TJ's story reminded me of the raccoon baby we got from my grandparent farm. He fell out of a tree, and mama wouldn't take him back after the second time. We took him home, I wound up being the "father" of that thing for a couple of weeks. Man. 2am feedings. Fun. We of course named him Rocky.

Anyway, when it was a "teenager," and we'd moved him into the dry bar under the stairs, he, um, "discovered himself" so to speak. With his muzzle no less. All the men of the family were kinda jealous...

He'd just sit in the cage for all to see having a good ol' time with himself. If you reached in and tapped him, he'd just tip over. Hilarious, and yet disturbing. We had to shutter him up when people would come over, especially the grandparents. Shudder to think what'd happen if they'd seen him. And the sounds he made. Ugh.

He got to be a year old, and too wild for us to keep, so we took him back to the farm in Grapeland. He took off for the trees and we never saw him again. He's probably a hat by now... (Oh, that's just wrong. But it's probably true.)

I have a ten gallon tank upstairs. I have 4 kinds of Gouramis, zebra tetras and a stinker fish. They are spoiled rotten. I am waiting on something to pass in one of my other tanks so I can turn it saltwater and get clownfish and yellow tangs.

salt would be tough in anything less than 50gallons. If you did want something small though, go to your local fish store and check out the Nano Cubes. Its a 12gallon cube with built in heater, pump, filter, lights and everything designed for salt. That'd be about the only setup that you could easily maintaint perfect water quality in a small tank. Even then its still hard to do.

Eech. Sounds like actual work. I already have 3 I have to clean and condition, Last thing I need is another one.
If I stick my 2 twenties(knifefish and my rat) and extra ten(Turtle) together, that's the only way I will ever get 50. I already have too many of them.

You have alabama fish.
And I have an Auburn Gourami.

salt stuff is awesome and I'm addicted to it. If you want to learn alot, get on http://groups.yahoo.com and search reefcity and just read through the messages. great info. Also over on hwy 150, check out Aqurium designs. They know their stuff and have an amazing setup. They besides sam's club, but are about to move to a store 4x bigger at patton creek
