Another addition to the Guitar Family

Well so far ...

I have almost everything I wanted in my collection short of a White/Black Falcon...outta my price range, and impractical for me.
If I played in a band full time..absolultey

So in my collection so far:

- Washburn Idol Deluxe: Blue Stained (Love this guitar)
- Jasmine accoustic: Blue stained (notice I like blue?!??)
- Gretsch Pro Jet w/Bigsby: Silver (semi hollowbody - chambered..my pride and joy... until today)

I confess though, I'm a Gretsch guy by heart....
Great guitars...but can get pricey.
I was looking for a 6120 blue/gold nashville... those hollows are great,
and being a 6120 ..but again, I'm not about to spend 2000 on one.

SO... brings me to today....or yesterday...i should say.
A buddy of mine brings me to the guitar shop where I purchased my
other Gretsch and Washburn ...
Low and behold... Gretsch has re-released with updated hardware...
a 'low priced' Hollow body in the 5120

Now until I'm a big rock start
my collection...is pretty well complete....

Nice rake. You know buying those things is like modding a car, it's never finished.

Well maybe...
My last acoustic 6 string I had custom hand built with wood that my luthier chose and we sound tested for my approval.

The fretboard inlays match my Oldsmobile's tail lights.
I don't think I will need another one.

Well 6120 Gretsch hollow bodies are in the $2000+ range.

The Gretsch 5120 Electromatic Hollow body you can probably get between 600-700 bones.

So its definately a bargain (considering the style of guitar and hardware on it)

Not in your guys' league, but here's my son's first electric guitar. First timer, currently taking lessons.

Here's his YouTube video log. I try and update it every few weeks to track his progress.

It all depends on what you play.
You don't need to go out and spend a fortune on guitars with stuff you'll never use if you are just messing around.

Very true... I only paid $99 for Chris' Squier Mini. It was all the accessories that added up to some $$$ (amp (plus mini-portable amp), chords, gig bag, strap, and pics)!... not to mention lessons!!

Nah, For me Brian bought an $89 Rogue lefty bass. I learned to play like 3 songs, got ****ed off I couldn't play the Eagles and its sitting here now wishing someone would pick it up again.
Since he plays, he buys real ones. My forever favorite is the EC Strat, also his first "real" guitar.

We had a Washburn Dimebag Darrell Signature, but it was too heavy metal sounding to just mess around with.

Yeah, there are tonnes of great guitars with great looks that don't break the bank.
Even Epiphone makes some great looking/sounding guitars.

And Bill your right... guitars are one thing, everything else is...well it adds up
