SUV tax break

this kinda crap just gets my goat

I think this sums it up nicely

Tax savings for guzzler buyers reduce government revenue, increase the federal deficit, increase our trade deficit, and send yet more money to the Middle East. If we were going to devise a formula for wrecking the country, it would be difficult to improve on this one. We might as well call this portion of the American Jobs Creation Act of 2004 the Osama Bin Laden Support Fund.

that is totally f***ed up, everyone should have to pay equal money 4 the same thing..... I mean we a have a gas-guzzling car and we're getting fed up with gas prices, and now we have to sell it....the 2 things that are most out of control in this country are taxes and gas prices...grrr!

Have I said that I hate SUV's (if they are not used for work purposes or safaris, which is what these beasts were intended for).

Zach- You think our taxes and gas prices are out of control? you just gotta look east across the pond to find that we still have some of the lowest taxes and gas prices.

While I agree that H2s and Porsche Cayennes should not be on the list, the F-350s, Sierra 3500, and other large pickups that some contractors use to haul and tow stuff is what the law was meant for. Not bling-bling, nitwits that want an H2 to haul around pansies.

This tax break is why there are so many H2s sold. People do some creative accounting and basically get a $50K vehicle for half price. I was talking to a salesman buddy and that's basically the sales pitch.

Well the way I see it, a SUV driving person should not get a tax break at all. I mean alot of us drive v8 cars that use alot of gas, they arent giving us a break.

I do think though that a break for business owners is a good thing. My dad drives a 99 dodge ram 3500 diesel that is his business truck. He makes a living with that truck as he pulls a trailer around 5 days ago delivering goods to grocery store. Gas prices are making it very hard for him right now to get by and being self employeed, he doesnt have a accounting department that he can send in an expense report and get reimbursed for it.

Ok....did you READ the article???? Its for "BUSINESS" vehicles. So...that means Semis, dump trucks, strait stucks, tow trucks, delivery vans, etc. Jusy becuase Family SUVs fall under this category, doesnt mean that everone driving them gets the break. This writer needs to be shot for writing that article that way. I know that everyone delivers the mail in Porsche Cayenne Turbos and H2s where I live. Dont jump to conclusions so quickly guys. Sheesh c:

We know that business vehicles get the break, and we want them to get it. We are p'od that people that dont use them for business get the tax break through fraud.
