The American {California} Way! $9.79 for a Gallon of 87 Octane Gas!
Chevron gas station at Najah’s Desert Oasis, California {INTERESTING NAME}
Today The price for a gallon of regular gas is $9.79
Premium $9.99, Oh That is as High As Machine Will Register or Might Be Higher!
The gas station is remote in Route 66 but that’s not the only thing that makes this gas expensive. The gas station increases their prices to this level because they are the only gas station within 50 miles. This lack of competition allows them rip off Americans this bad!
I Would Not Want to Be The Clerk at This Station! Imagine The Blowback!
Here in Central Ca. In Less Severe Markets it Varies From Low $5's to High 5's!
So Many Scams These Days!
It Has Got To Change!

WOW!!
That name does seem fitting.
I watch too much news as it is and I still can't quite figure out the price hike. My best guess is that the American oil companies are locked into future contracts and must deliver more oil to all the customers that now can't get oil from the overseas suppliers. It's a shame that Americans have to suffer but I get the legal issues and future business reasons if that is true. Hopefully the Strait of Hormuz thing will be 'old news' in a few months and gas back down to the $2 - $3 area for 87 grade.
On the local front here in western NC I just paid $4.79 for premium at a Marathon. That's about $1 higher than before all this began. To get rid of Iran, yeah, it's OK in my book for awhile, but not for years.

I fired up the Powerstroke this morning because I had to bring trash to the dumpster, I haven't driven it since Diesel was $2.89/gallon and now it's $5.49. I cancelled my trip to the Ford Nationals because I'm not driving 1600 miles with a trailer at that price. Taking the Maverick to MD and back was $220 in fuel only because I can run 87 in it and I got 28mpg on average. I saw a high of $4.19/gallon for 87 and $6.59/gallon for Diesel on the trip but still seemed to be no difference in traffic levels.
I drove my 87 with a 331 to Pigeon Forge for Ponies in the Smokies a couple weeks ago (4 hours each way) ...it did far better than expected at 20mpg on the way up and back, not so good cruising around but I really didn't think about the price of gas, the drive was worth the expense. Fortunately, on a daily commute I am 1 mile from work.
