Actually based on the serial number that's a Remington Rand, not a Colt.

Also the crossed cannons behind the grip signify it's a rebuilt. Does the slide say it's a Colt on the other side, or does it say Remington Rand?

60,000 pistols in the Ithaca range: 856405-916404
41,696 pistols in the Remington Rand range: 916405-958100

This could explain why you think I have a Remington Rand due to the duplicated serial numbers, but it’s not. My Colt was purchased unissued by my late father back in the mid 1960’s from DCM for $25.00 and I’ve owned it since then. Anyhow, it’s a unmolested keeper.

I picked up a Dan Wesson CCO about a year and a half ago. Very nice 1911.
