05 Quad city air show
No matter how many times I go to an air show, I come away amazed [and I was around planes for 8 years or so in the Navy] so it takes a lot to amaze me. I especially like the old warbirds.
There was a P-38, one of 3 remaining in flying condition in the world [hate to ahve to pay that insurance bill].

Nice! You got to see a P-38!!! Ahh!!! I have yet to see one in person. My 2nd fav warbird (after the P-51D). Does that 1 of 3 count that one they dug out of the glacier?
I see the pic of the "Super" Hornet as well.

A P-38, a Mustang and a Corsair! Incredible birds. Thanks for the pics.

Here they are again. Love those old planes.
I've got 2 beautiful 1:48 models, one of a Corsair and one of a Zero. I got them from Pacific Flyer in Oceanside CA. I picked up the Zero the day Saburo Sakai died.
I know they have P-51's in different paint schemes but I don't remember seeing a P-38. That would be awesome to add to the hangar.

I hope to get to the EAA convention in Oshkosh, WI this year. The air shows are definitely fun to watch.

Don't forget to visit the beer tent under the big yellow balloon. One year they hauled it down so we could all sign it. I guess we made an impression.
Btw, EAA members can get X-Plan.
