Sound tubes are one thing, they just enhance the natural sound. Although not by much on my GTCS, but recorded tracks....

 

Yep, gotta add that excitement in somewhere, well at least on demand.

I suppose if full electrics become main stream (highly doubt it unless there is some paradigm shifting batter tech out there) you will see more of this stuff.

 

I wonder if they come with an M3 embroidered sock to stuff in your pants while you drive it as well....

I remember them talking about this on the Top Gear review of the new M5. I can see a benefit of it, it would make driving a Focus for example more fun if the speaker made the sounds of a 5.0, lol.

 

Now why the heck do the OEMs want to replicate lame engine noises in the cabin when they could use this lame sound generator instead:
