Would you buy a Ford 500 if there was a SVT model?

Just gauging opinions on this. The 500 is really growing on me, god, I need my midlife crisis lol. No, test drove one today, very nice car. I think this could be a hit as a SVT model.

I'd have to see it, but I would consider one.

Yes, if it somewhat resembled the Fusion chop I did awhile ago.

Yes

Especially if they could squeeze a V8 into it. Maybe the T-bird engine.

RWD for the performance version would be nice too.

I liked the SVT Contours so I would like to see what they would do with the 500.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the 500 based off of the same platform as Volvo's XC90? If so, shouldn't the new Yamaha V8 in the XC90 fit in the 500? It's predecessor fit in the SHO!! AWD and 300HP sounds nice

The 500 would be a sure winner if it had a powerful V6 (not that little ol' 202hp one, it needs at least 250hp) and a V8 knocking out 300hp+ would be killer

The 500 could steal some Audi owners if it had the power (it kinda looks like an Audi in any case, and drives like one...) and if the price was kept low (say, around 25-27k) Ford would be rolling in the dough...

(Plus, when they get the new "427" look to it for the redesign, it will be gorgeous)

EDIT: So, yeah, my answer is yes...

The Fusion is rumored to come out as an SVT model, but not the 500.

probably ST, not SVT. I think "SVT" is Mustang/Lightning/Halo car only now.

That would be pretty awesome. It is based on that Volvo platform, though how much it has been modified from it, I don't know. That Yamaha, a rather evolved version of the old SHO V8, looks like a very sweet piece and would make a perfect motor for a new Ford 500 SVT/SHO/ST or whatever you want to call it. Combine it with the 4WD and voila, an Audi S4 killer and something to go up against the new Chrysler 300 Hemi/Dodge Magnum Hemi.

I really liked the old Contour SVT -- very well and thoughtfully done -- and would welcome a similar treatment to the somewhat insiped 500.
