DOnt know if this has been mentioned but Fiat is trying to force GM to buy its auto business. A few years ago GM bought into Fiat auto and supposedly signed an agrrement that allowed them to purchase the whole company for a certani price. I dont understand the exact terms of it BUT.....

If this goes through, GM WILL OWN FERRARI!!!!!

Ferrari owns Maserati and GM wouldn't get them if they bought Fiat.

Fiat could use a rwd sedan like the Cadillac CTS. If GM buys them, GM should give them the Sigma chassis (Cadillac's platform for the CTS, the STS, and the SRX). Alfa Romeo could make a gorgeous sedan with a nice V-6.

I hope Cadillac doesn't makea fwd sedan for Europe as I have heard.

That doesn't mean Ferrari is part of the deal. When Ford bought Volvo, they only bought the car part of the business. The commercial truck part of Volvo wasn't in the deal.

It is like when BMW sold Rover to Venture Capatilists, they kept hold of the Mini part of the business....
