That the guy who designed this

Jag XK-Concept

Also designed this :bang:

Aston DB9

I am not sure whether we have been through this discussion before, it's just that they had the XK on TG on Sunday, and the similarities are glaring! It's almost the same blody car!

Wow, he is so creative. That doesn't look like a Jag at all.

Oh man, 35th, that's funny, and the more I think about it, the more you are right. Except for the lower price.

Are there many differences power wise or are the plants very close too?

the engines are completely different. I cannot understand Jag (of Aston) allowing their new car to look so much like a DB. There seems a lack of designers at present....

The jag should be a lot cheaper i think. well the base XK8 anyways, that's like what, $60K nowadays? under $100K for sure anyway. The DB9's closer to $200K right? But then, they're saying the XKR will be closer to 450hp and then maybe even another model above that, the XKR-R, which is a pretty rediculous name. I think that one would definitely be closing in on the Aston's territory.

There's a thread in this forum called Production XK somewhere, that'll give you more pics and info.

I'd rather it look like an Aston than a Lincoln

I meant looks wise similar, not component. Should have thought that one through I guess. Plus the Jag is a 2+2, and this Aston might be a 2+0 (I know you can get a Vanquish in either configuration, and I am pretty sure the new V8 is just a 2 seater, but I am not sure about the DB9...)

Personally I see too much Mazda in the new Jag (esp. the rear tail-lamps) and for some reason the headlights just bother me.

Jaguar and Aston are both owned by Ford. Can't you see that Ford is just being forward-thinking and taking the next step from platform sharing?

Body sharing! :P

I looked at the XK Concept for a long time before scrolling down to the DB9. As I looked at the lines of the XK I kept thinking, hmmmm, whole lotta AM in that design. Now I know why.
