When i shift gears my car kind of bounces around (back and forth). Is this the transmission going bad? It just started this last night. Was fine until about 5 before I got to work.

 

I am not a mechanic and I'm not 100% sure but it sounds like your clutch may be slipping. When my clutch in my old Subaru was wearing down it had a tendency to "buck".

Is there still a little play in the clutch pedal when you depress it? Check to see if there is any oil leaking from the valve cover too. Sometimes it can drip onto the clutch and cause it to slip. There was an issue like this in a MM&FF a few years ago and it ended up being that there was a leak that was dripping down onto the clutch.

If it isn't your clutch I would take your car to be checked out by a professional or check with SVOPaul.

Just a couple weeks ago I was told by a tire shop that I had a valve cover leaking. That must be it. I just figured they wanted to milk money out of me.
