What Should I do? Stang, or German?

So I recently got my beautiful and very loved mustang totaled.

It happens, but now I have to decide on what to get next.

Should I
A) Replace the Stang with basically the same thing as in my sig but maybe with nav and/or HID's and low miles
B) Buy a 2005-2006 M3 or M5 with mileage in the range of 30-60k
C)Buy a Porsche Cayman S in the 2006-2008 range with the same kind of mileage

I understand that ownership for the Teutonic machines will be at a premium. The extent of that I am not certain. I just know more expensive to own. However insurance is cheaper for the M3 and Cayman than the Stang

So any insight or thoughts would be appreciated.

go with the stang IMO. The maintenance/repair bills alone scare me away from the other choices

AMERICA!

but seriously, go drive all of them. If it was me I would go for the stang because its just a better value and lower maintenance. Plus the ability to mod!

Also, 05 M3's had 333 hp and got 15/22 mpg. no reason to go back 7 years in technology just for an M badge...

If you are looking for a smaller, lighter car, however, the cayman S might be your choice but it is still german and out of warranty in a year or so.

It seems like you loved your Stang, so why mess with a good thing?

I would stay away from Germans if they're out of warranty.

The biggest problem with the M and Cayman in a best case scenario is parts. The price of parts alone for the M is outrageous. It's just a crapshoot. In my mind I want both of those cars but require horrendous maintenance costs.

Not trying to scare you away but it's why I'll buy a Mustang next over an M car. I can do a lot o work myself and don't have to worry much. Nothing is perfect but it's tough to pay so much for those high end cars. But go drive them and if they move you enough then maybe you will have to pick the one that stirs you the most.

Why not an M Coupe instead of an M3?

All three would be a kick to drive. I would assume the cayman is an amazing drivers car. As others have said, if you go german have some money saved for repairs. A good friend of mine (who has owned over 20 mustangs) picked up a gently used boxster for his wife. She loved the car HATED the costs of repairs.

Yeah I began researching reliability and extended cost of ownership. I have driven all three and the cayman grabbed me by the bobo's and was incredibly engaging to drive.

However I could not justify myself to buy a car with oil changes costing upwards of 100 dollars.

So that being said let me introduce you to Carmine.

6mt, 3.73's, HID, Brembo brakes,
Navigation, accessory package 5.

I have to go pick her up first thing next year.

I had a experience of driving ALL m cars while I had my mustang , but sorry the tq alone is a winning for me .. German cars have that driving feel from factory that no muscle cars have but there is aftermarket to fix that to your own liking . The cost of repairs for any German car is ridiculous.. I've owned a 6spd golf gti with 24v and yes smoooooth as butter but my wifes svt focus would do circles around it all day.. so get the Stang back and just the sound alone will win more hearts let alone the 50 years of history

I'm not mad he asked the question. I'm just wondering what response he thought he would get from a bunch of mustang owners. lol
