I don't know who's naming cars at Ford, but after the Sinus and calling this thing a Fairlane, they need a good beating.

I like the way it looks...but Fairlane? Come on, are we not more talented then that? Let's use some creativity or some kind. We must learn from those who have fallen before us (GM) Use them as a stepping stones to get farther....lol.

So when did the Fairlane change from a fullsize family car to an SUV ,SUX, or whatever it is. I think you could find a name better by running your finger down a dictionary blindfolded.

Yeah, I like 1958 models too.

Probably most beautiful Fords ever built.

I'm not wild about the name sake, but if this were to replace a minivan I am all over it. Ford's press release said this is the direction the Freestar replacement may take in 2008. I am not a big SUV person, so give it a decent engine and handling and Ford may have a hit. Again, Ford please pic a new name first!

http://www.fordvehicles.com/autoshow/ on the bottom by the Fairlane photo it says "A new spin on a classic model, the Ford Fairlane is savvy, sophisticated and ready to move. " There is no photo by it, but it says coming jan 14...hopefully we're just jumping the gun

my $0.02---> Ford should make the fairlane a high performance station wagon as comp against the Magnum, or maybe a sedan, but not that thing....

I even heard a story that Ford is pulling out of minivan business, so this ... thing should be replacement for Freestar.

Is the Freestar not selling enough?

The Freestar is one of the least looked at minivans in the segment. They changed the name to make it look like they did a major change with the car. It doesn't sell real well anymore, as more people are going with the Oddessy, or the Twon & Country. I really think Ford should build the Fairlane Concept, and if they do, they will do very well with this car. Most people don't like the stigma you get with driving a minivan, but with the Fairlane, it looks like a fancy wagon with a little bit of Range Rover added. I am a Ford salesperson, and truthfully, I like the idea, and hope they build it. It would help us out alot in the segment.
