Walkinshaw Holden SS-V Superwagon: 603 HP

Wagon Heaven?!

http://jalopnik.com/5500938/walkinsh...-pontiac-power

Walkinshaw's Superwagon is based on a Holden SS-V Special Edition Sportwagon which comes from the factory with a 362HP 6.0-liter V8 with 390 lb-ft of torque. Not too shabby for a slick wagon. But Walkinshaw saw that as a starting point, packing on a roots type supercharger, bigger fuel injectors and custom 3-inch exhaust system to raise output to an passenger-rearranging 610 HP and 568 lb-ft of torque. The car also gets a stiffer set of lowering springs, new dampers and 20" wheels and a powertrain warranty for all the work which matches the length of the original GM warranty. Have we mentioned is available with a six-speed manual transmission. We're about to go cry in our Wheaties. [The Motor Report]

I wish we would see some hot wagons here. I would love to see the M5 & E63 AMG estates here. Maybe even the RS6 Avant. The CTS sport does nothing for me. Right now the best we have is the Volvo V70-R.

I've always loved hot wagons, combining equal parts practicality and performance. They make far more sense for a performance buff with family duties than any fat, lumbering SUV.

And this one, not only a hot wagon but a wagon version of the G8, which I consider as the best overall vehicle GMs ever made (so of course, they went and killed it for the American market).

Maybe, just maybe, someone at GM will come to their senses and just bring this **** thing over, perhaps under a Chevy badge.

I couldn't agree more, I'd take a hot full-size wagon over a truck, suv, or minivan any day of the week!

Those Aussies have all the good toys and large expanses of road to use them on.

i'm totally down on this with one exception and that being that holden seems to beleive that pointiacs have better styling. They need to ditch that bloody pontiac grill and get back to being a holden again.

Let's face it: if people in the USA were actually buying wagons - companies would actually sell them.

Dodge Magnum was the only wagon that was somewhat successful since the introduction of minivans in the early 1980s.

Quite true . . . even Volvo seems to be bowing out of the wagon market.

Very true thats why its a good thing they don't listen to people like us. If they did the automakers would be in huge trouble. There arn't enough of us wagon lovers around to make it worth it.

I don't care how "awesome" it is. Wagons have always been blah to me (with the exception of the magnum).
