US 2011 Chevrolet Cruze
http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/29/l...-s-market-tri/
When it does finally arrive, the Cruze should be a huge step forward from the Chevy Cobalt, and GM hopes it will be an able competitor to the next-generation Honda Civic and Ford Focus, which are slated to arrive not long afterward. The Cruze is slightly larger than the Cobalt, but will be powered by downsized engines, including a new 1.4-liter turbocharged four cylinder with 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque, as well as a 1.8-liter normally-aspirated unit with similar power but less torque. All Cruze models will get six-speed gearboxes – either manual or automatic. The turbo Cruze is expected to score an impressive 40 mpg EPA highway rating.

They are putting that corporate nose job on all their chevy models, kind of like pontiac did with their models. Buick and caddy are doing it too. I don't like them doing that. Used to be each model had it's own distinct look, not a clone like appearance of each other. It mixes people up and simple makes the whole model line look the same, just pick what size you want it in.

"The turbo Cruze is expected to score an impressive 40 mpg EPA highway rating."
Impressive... I guess... Sort of... Whatever...

Actually, that's not impressive. Tell me it makes 40MPG **CITY** then I'll be impressed. Because most who will have this thing are going to bury their foot into the floorboard with the throttle, so it'll get an unimpressive 17MPG in the city. People will then go "WTF Chevy!?"
Or so I'm imagining...

And true, this is the same beef I'd have for any of them. Impress me with city mileage, not highway, or don't use words like 'impressive.' Unless it's attached to that 40MPG highway when that engine and transmission is installed in a semi with a full weighted load... That *would* be impressive indeed.
/Highway MPG means next to nothing in the Real World of Cars.
//oh, and the interior looks pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. I'd not have much probs with it.
