It's all a master of personal preferences really... some will think 20s on a Mustang are "bling," others won't. Fairly simple.

As long as people aren't trying to be outright offensive in their comments (positive or negative), I really don't see what the problem is.

I don't think the Mustang crowd is really in the target demographic for "urban" terms anyway... I'm actually impressed that a few people here even know the word "bling." Probably from an occasional rap video or an episode of Pimp My Ride of course, but still.

Personally, I think "hideous, atrocious and repulsive" is a bit strong, especially considering that the Cobra comes pretty close with its 19s. If not overdone, I'm sure 20s could look just fine. If overdone, 16s or 17s can look like crap just as easily. Too large for my taste, but to each his (or her) own.

Not really any different than a blanket statement that all stripes and side scoops are "white trash." I don't believe that myself, but I'm sure quite a few do.

What was the point of this topic again?

Since the original Shelby Mustangs of the late 60's had stripes and many of them side scoops, I'd like to know who would call that "white trash". I would hate for someone to call Carroll Shelby white trash, at least in my presence. For their sake anyway. But as far as the 19" wheels on the Cobra, I think even 19" wheels are too big. From a performance standpoint, as well as appearance. That is SVT jumping on the bandwagon of the tuner market where bigger wheels are better. I wouldn't go bigger than 18" on this Mustang. But that's just my opinion.

I tend to laugh more at the people that use the word "bling". For me wheels are hit or miss, i don't like most large rims but there have been a few 20's i thought were OK. But I dont care how cool you think you are, saying For Shizzle my Nizzle is about the dumbest thing since i heard my 6 year old cousin say no doykie ( her creative take on no duh, which is equally dumb.

And on another note, people post there pic so they can get opinions, if it is one you don't like, tough. quit being mad at them for giving you there opinion when you asked for it. ehh....hippies

What did I tell you Stan? We saved some baby cows from being eaten and now we're no good dirty god d@*#ed Hippies!

To keep middle-aged white guys from using the word "bling"

I agree with the above, a 14 inch wheel can look like crap, and a 19 or 20 in wheel could, just maybe, look OK

When I was a teenager, it was wide tires, and air shocks ( anybody remember shackles?). My Dad ranted and raved about how STUPID it was. Seems this is another verse in the same song. The 20"-22" crowd thinks everyone else just doesn't get it, We get it, and You will too in 20 years.

We've gone from black to middle-aged white, to asian, to white trash... I'd say get back on topic... but I don't really know what the topic is.

And that car is the ugliest car I have ever seen.

STOP DIS'N MY CAR!!!

Can someone chop the first set wheels from this thread onto my new car, plus maybe a roof-scoop. The roof-scoop will be my next mod.

Matt - Sorry, must have mixed up my meds again, darn thick glasses! Lovin the GT for sure. Next week I will take the plunge and post my stripes for all to comment on, good or bad. Then we can have another thread like this one. Going with a 70 Mach 1 style stripe, minus the shaker, at least for now. Drew

What, you don't like my Exterior Mods?

Re the topic, I think the original post is fair enough. I'm not a fan of crazy chrome wheels, but do like the set shown on the Satin Silver GT. Also, there's nothing wrong with the chrome bullitts.

I've seen some awful looking chromes on V6's on lots (not a V6 bash - seems like dealers are dressing V6's to help shift them), but I'm sure they'll appeal to someone and the car will sell. That said, is MY taste the only taste which matters, and should it be imposed on all Mustang buyers? Nope. Am I entitled to my opinion? Yes, but there's a difference between "Don't like that AT ALL!" and "Holy chit! I'm gonna puke! What waste of money, you moron!".

Everyone's all about "just my opinion" this and "I say what I like, and I like what I bloody-well say!" that, but there's such a thing as tact and decorum. Seems too many people are smart-alecs on the web and are quick to talk trash (and yes, guilty). Most of the things said in here would never be said in the real world, even if only for fear of waking up in the local medical center!

Not sure if "Bling" is such a bad word, though...

Well I thought it was a word used mostly from black people. Last time I heard it was recently on TV when a black actor said he got some bling-bling going on and pointed to his gold tooth. LOL. No joke. Sicne then I i have always related bling equal to something that is very shinny in terms of the black language. By the way I am being very honest here and I am not racist for those that may want to turn this around.
