Wonderful program!

Did not know that the FIA outlawed the GT40 in 1970, after they changed the engine capacity to 5.0 liters to curtail Ford's winning streak in '66 & '67. The Mark IV is truly one of the most beautiful race cars in history.

I hope somebody in FMC is silently pushing for a new Ford GT Le Mans/ALMS program. IMO it would be a shame to bring the car "back" without some from of racing program.

The new GT could easily dominate the GT-S class, but would it be put in a different class due to being supercharged?

From what I know IF they did race the new GT in ALMS/Le Mans Ford would have to put a N/A motor in her. Which would be OK, since Mr. Robert Yates/Ford has a 5.0 Mod motor that has been race proven (used usely) in the Grand-Am Series Prototype class.

Time will tell.

The Yates engine would be an excellent powerplant for the GT. Though considering GM uses a 7-L V8 for the C5-R 'Vette a Yates V10 or similarly large V8 would also be welcome.
