Hey Kids,
I've been messing around with some designs for a brand new generation of Tucker Motors. I'm posting the preliminary designs for three of the cars. I'm looking for suggestions and comments, so give me your opinions...

Edit: And I'll be creating renders of these over the next few weeks... B)

This is the Tucker Bayonet.

It's a small car, meant to take on the Mini, Golf, etc.

cool pics.

so is this just fantasy or does the company still even exist?

hope they have better luck than the people that tried to revive Indian motorcycles (more than once.)

No, the company doesn't exist anymore...but there is a Tucker Club.
I hope to one day revive the company(that's the dream...we'll see)

So, yeah, this is just for fun as of right now...

Nice work!
In my view, your medium and large sedans kind of have a Ferrari (612) and Maserati Quattroporte look to them.
Not bad, just familar.

Are you trying to capture any of the styling from the original design?
If so, you may want to try something little more radical, like Tucker did in 1948 when compared to the exisiting cars back then.

I'm taking elements from the original cars, but not trying to make 'em look too retro (Saw a great modern rendition of a Torpedo, but it could not work in reality)
The main pieces that represent Tucker for me are the 3-inlet grill, the center headlight, and the rear engine intakes, so I put these on the cars(the center headlights are a little hard to see). Also, the Torpedo(the '48 Torpedo, that is) had an almost coupe like roof line, so I tried to bring that over to mine too.

I'll make a new sketch of the Torpedo, with a new front end(which I really don't like anyways...), probably put it up later tonight or tommorrow

(As an aside, I saw the Scaglietti after I made the Torpedo design, and the Tracer is based of a Veyron...)

Thanks for your feedback, Blip!

Okay, went back and looked them over again. I picked up on the elements you listed.

On the Torpedo, I viewed the side element as a "cut-line" with a concave section (like the 612).
If it is a bulge shape, then it does capture some of the original 48 Tucker lines.

I think you are on the right track with the designs.
The hardest thing for a design is to show the vehicle/company heritage, but not be too retro.
Keep on drawing!

You were right on your first look, it is a concave on the front doors, but maybe a slight bulge would look better, I'll work that into the new sketch

Frank, I hope you can find somebody with VERY deep pockets, but as a caveat, the pages of history are choked to overflowing with the remains of small car companies that didn't make it.

Nonetheless, good luck.

The key is to be big enough to make money, but small enough not to get noticed...
