Trailblazer check engine code translation help needed!

Along with my GT/CS, I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer. Driving home from work today at exactly 60,000 miles on the odometer, my engine light came on.

I thought to myself that Chevy must be sneaky setting the light to come on to get me in for service.

Since I waste money each month on OnStar I figure I may as well use them since they can diagnose your problem. So I press me little blue button and get an "advisor" that reads her scripts way too fast. She runs the diagnostics and comes back and tells me that my power train has had a malfunction. My first thought was "DUH", but I held it in and pumped her for more information, but that was all she could tell me besides that it was safe to drive but could break down and get to my dealer as soon as possible. Another useless OnStar feature which is why I should cancel it.

So then I went over to the auto parts store and they read the code for me which is the following:

P0014
Camshaft position actuator B - Bank 1 timing over advanced.

It seems to be running fine, no weird noises. I'm stumped.

So, i'm wondering if any of the mechanics out there can maybe explain this problem or have any ideas before I bring it to someone?

yea, take it to autozone and reset the fault, then see if it comes back.... if it does, take it to get checked...

if it goes away, forget about it.

for more information go to trailvoy.com

I checked out trailvoy.com and plenty of info on it there. Several posts there suggest changing the oil before doing anything since sludge could get caught in a sensor. It just happens that i'm waaaaay overdue for a change. That's what happens when the new Mustang gets all the attention!
