Right - anybody bragging about feeling safe passing in their 4 banger is smokin' something - unless they're on flat straightaway's for miles.

Sometimes the only safe passing area is up a grade, sometimes very short with a blind curve at the other end so you don't see the oncoming car until the last minute. Puckerville!

I have a 150hp 4 banger for my winter car and my B for summer. When I occasionally drive the 4 once or twice a month, I have to always remember that I can't use the same 'safe' passing stretches in the 4 banger that I can blow by anyone in my V8. I've been caught out a few times in the 4 with a log truck suddenly appearing from the curve heading straight at me and it is waaay unsettling!

While the ever increasing HP wars are getting kind of ridiculous because you can't shift into 3rd without risking a ticket, at the same time when I risk facing oncoming traffic on a two lane twister, I want a freakin' rocket!

If you know how, it is easy.
Hang back before the passing zone.
Downshift and floor it.
Hit the higher gears as needed.
Fly by the slowpoke at the passing zone.
Never a problem.
Maybe you think you know how to drive, maybe you don't.
LOL, that is how I would do the pass action in slow cars. Hang back and then get up to speed anticipating the lane clearing before I rear ended the car I was looking to pass. Then do the fly by. Timing is everything. Or just not do it at all until there was a mile of open lane to use.

Fast cars don't kill people. Morons in fast cars kill people.

Darwin was right.

people(most of the time women.sorry) in large trucks and suv's on a cell phone or just not watching where they are going scare me. people do not seem to understand what a 3-5 ton suv/truck can do and can not do.jst because it starts better in the snow doesnt make it stop better. just because you feel "safe" in it doesnt make you a safer driver or a better one. I can tell alot about a person by the lack of parking ability many of them have. I mean if a person takes 1.25 parking space to park a suv/truck I would say they should of bought something they can Not handle.

most of the time when I see a women in a large truck I think someones creepy uncle touched them and now they need to feel safe. when I see guys in these jacked up beast I want to say "wow did that add 2 or 3 inchs?".

Everyone and their mother here owns a truck and considering this is Texas it shouldn't be surprising. My dad drives a 2006 F350 with a 3 or 4 inch lift and from first hand experience I can say it does take a little bit more to park something of that size. However, I agree with you. If you're going to drive something of that size you should know how to maneuver it around properly. The general idea of "I have a bigger car than you so I can drive however I please" is an attitude i've found most people have adopted. I won't like when I say I do feel safer in the F350 than a lot of other cars I drive on a regular basis, but at the same time i've also see how truck vs. car usually ends up.
