Tom's Morgan/S2000 drive train conversion
My Morgan started life with an English Ford 1.6L CVH engine and Sierra five-speed gearbox. By the time she had 50K miles on the clock the engine was getting weak and starting to smoke. I had to do something and rebuilding the original engine did not seem like a good idea.
Many years of Honda ownership resulted in selection of the engine and gearbox from an S2000. I found them from a 2005 that had been totaled due to rear end damage. The car only had 26K miles on it when it was hit so the drive train was like new.
I didn't have the equipment or skills to do the transplant so I found someone who did. The chassis rails didn't look stout enough to use the standard S2000 motor mounts so he designed and fabricated a tubular steel cradle with four mounting points to the chassis and additional mounting points for skid plates.
More to come.

The stock S2000 exhaust system would not work in the Morgan so he fabricated four into two into one headers, connected the muffler and fabricated the exhaust pipe to clear the rear tire.

The engine looked like it was meant to be there. The Pelican box to the left in the photo held my tools.
The Morgan then went to another shop were another wizard did the plumbing and electrical work.
When it got back on the road it weighed 800 pounds less than a Honda S2000 and would blow the doors off of V8 powered Morgan Plus 8s. Their Land Rover engines were no match for it.

I never shot any vids of the Morgan. I've shot some from inside my Mustang while autocrossing but I don't believe I've ever had any that show any of my cars.
By the way, here are some interesting numbers. The torque in my 2,050 pound Morgan was only 162 lb/ft but that's 12.65 pounds of weight per lb/ft. The number for my V6 Mustang is 12.96 pounds per. The horsepower numbers are much different - 11.9 pounds per HP in my Mustang but only 8.5 pounds per HP in the Morgan. It was PDQ.
