But, what I don't get... is why when the drag racing runs taking place, why does he bounce around in first, letting it it redline for quite a bit, then shift to second?

He wasn't spinning wheels he was *gettin* it down the road... I'm guessing it's a kph thing, where he has to be over, oh, 40, for second to work?

Still, frickin' fast, man... sheesh.

Love the older Golfs and GTIs. It's sad what they've become now with the MK5+ models.

 

Love the Q-Ship sleeper look of it. I'll bet many a high-caliber Porsche/Audi/BMW/Merc driver has been compelled to slink off the nearest exit ramp to cry into a stein of beer.

As for hitting warp 3 in the left lane, fortunately in Germany, they have great lane discipline as opposed to the lumbering lackadaisical driving talent all too common on this side of the pond -- that's one reason they can have such high speed Autobahns yet not have some sort of blood bath that you'd end up with here.

 

On that top speed test he must have been out of gearing because it was still pulling power wise.
