1.) Shelby GT500
2.) SVT Adrenalin (for the love of god give it a better name)
3.) SVT Lightning
4.) SVT Fusion. This one seems almost guaranteed at this point, but I will say there's no way you'll see a 4.2L V8 in it.

5.) This is a very tough call, I can see a few options here, a Focus, a Crown Vic, an Escape, or a 500. I think the Escape and 500 are the least likely of what I've named. With the Escape it seems like that might be one too many trucks for SVT to do. And an SVT version doesn't really seem to suit the 500 IMHO, though with a 427-style redo on the car that might change. I think the chances of seeing a Crown Vic depend on whether they'd rather take another wack at a Marauder to prove they can do it better. As for the Focus, I expect them to go with the 3-door again, possibly with a V6 and all-wheel drive. Unfortunately I think the 5-cylinder from the European Focus ST is more likely than a V6. (I think using a Volvo motor in the Focus is a mistake for the US market)

From what I've heard, the next Focus SVT will be powered by the turbo 2.3 currently in the Mazdaspeed 6, likely detuned to 240-250 hp. I definitely don't see a V-6 going into the Focus, although a turbo 5 cylinder would be a possibility.

Definitely not a V-8 for the Fusion. I'd guess the most likely engine would be the Mazdaspeed 6 engine again, making somewhere between 250-300hp, since they're both based on the same platform, but the upcoming Duratech 35 would be another interesting option.

If the SVT 500 comes to be, I'd expect a version of the Volvo/Yamaha/SHO V-8.

1. Shelby GT500
2. SVT Adrenaline
3. SVT Fusion
4. SVT Focus
5. ????

I think the SVT Focus was too sucessfull, and too lamented in passing, to not be brought back. Plus as long as there's a rally Focus in Europe there will be an in-house desire for a version here.

The 5th model will be the enigma. An SVT explorer was studied awile back but never came to anything, and might step on the adrenaline's toes. An SVT Escape is possible, but I'm not sure if there's a market. I think if Ford brings in the Falcon to replace the Crown Vic, we'll for sure see an SVT Falcon.

We WON'T see initially:
-A V8 in the SVT Fusion. At least not immediately. Sure, its possible to cram mone in, but the cost of engineering all that hardware's really up there. If Volvo starts putting its XC90's V8 in its cars we might see a V8 Fusion, but otherwise V6 or turbocharged I4 are more likely.
-SVT Lightning. I'm pretty convinced that the Lightning is dead until the F-150 goes on a diet. Its a darn fine truck but also a porker, and like cramming a V8 in a Fusion getting the new F-150 to get up and go will take alot of work. Its possible they'd go the Cobra-R route and do it anyway cost-be-damned, but I don't see it as likely yet.

The Fusion isn't based on Volvo underpinnings, the 500 is (the Fusion is based on the Mazda6). We're more likely to see the V8 in the 500 with AWD. which would make a nice SVT!

Actually you can buy a kit to make a V8 rwd focus for about $5k. So surely Ford can do the same for a lot less.

SVT Focus was too sucessfull? SVT killed SVT Focus because of low sales.

If SVT really makes new Focus, it should be with turbocharger so it can compete with Subaru Impreza Sti and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.

I think they need to bring back the t-bird on the 427 platform and make a two and four door version...and revive the Fairlane with 2,4 door and station wagon versions, as comp. to the Magnum...

SVT Thunderbird 'Bird of Prey'
SVT Forty-Nine or
SVT Fairlane

I don't remember the name of the company, my dad has been talking about making one which would be very cool I think the total cost including the car and the drive train was somewhere around $15k-$16k

hmmm not bad. man... think of a 429W in a focus!

think of the looks on the faces of the guys in the SRT4/cobalt/RSX/civic that you just toasted.

if your dad needs a perfectly useless teenager to hang around while he works, nod alot, and do pretty much nothing useful (meaning ill exhaust his supply of nachos while he works) you know who to call

i think there will be two svt stangs just cause i doubt there would be a lightning and adrenaline

I think there will be both Lightning and Adrenaline. Ford's biggest opponent in muscle trucks, Dodge, have I think 3 really powerfull trucks, so Ford should have at least 2.

how do you get three muscle trucks from Dodge?? They have the SRT-10; that's it. And the T-Bird is coming back.
[/b][/quote]

The T-Bird is coming back? Does anyone have any info on that? i loved the new Thunderbird very sleek.

IMO I think we'll see the Lightning again. Ford discontinued it for the time being but with the output of the 5.4 s/c and a little tweaking it could easily romp on the SRT/10 (those thing are butt ugly too.) I haven't seen many on the road and dodge is discontinuing the viper in a few years so I wouldn't be surprised if the SRT/10 went bye-bye soon.

All hail SVT!

for sure man. the cover of motor trend had this focus and a guallardo together, it said the focus had 500hp, although it was a little lower than that though, something like 450, but i think it should be enough anyways. $5K sounds a little cheap though, these guys at ford racing spent more like $60K or something.

The T-bird is gone for now, but some guy put it as "putting that name-plate up on the shelf for now..." something like that, so we'll see it again some time, not for a while though.

its all about the SVT falcon...

Yes but the Volvo V8 is compact and light, I was surmising that if FMC is putting out the $$ to develope a Fusion V8 they'd use the Volvo engine, especially if it shows up in an uprated Volvo sedan or 500 first.

Yes, the 5.0L V8 Focus is figgin sweet, but thats super-low-volume aftermarket KIT, not a limited produciton vehicle. There was a similar kit to put a V12 in an BMW Z3, but you'd never see one roll off the line that way.
