Is this stuff for real?

Pretty sure this is the right place to put this....

I saw this indiana gas prices .com and wondered if it was good for your car or not...or if it even works...I've alwasy wondered if putting additives in your gas was a good idea....like STP or something....

I find it odd that they claim higher grade fuels are more effective by "creating more space" in the fuel. Higher fuel grades burn slower, they dont provide more power, the increased power is due to higher engine compression ratios.

You're going to see hoards of these products showing up now that gas is going to be hitting $4 a gallon.

Another product that this company is making millions scamming people I would say. The only products I've ever used are a K&N airfilter and every other month I put in a bit of Lucas fuel additive.

Frankly the best way to save gas is as I've said before, drive sensibly, use speed control when you can safely, and plan your trips wisely.

Other than that this is just another way to throw more money down the drain. Remember the Tornado from a few years back?.....

For only $26 it might be worth giving it a try just to see if it works. Someone should try it and report back. Heck, I might try it. I'll think about it.

Tru'dat, it all comes down to the dynamic compression of the engine (advance/retard to pick where you want the plug to fire in relation to TDC)

I've already ordered a bottle, figured I'd give it a try, and one bottle (or maybe just one tank, if bad) shouldn't hurt the car.

It hasn't arrived yet, they said there might be a delay when I ordered it.

We'll see.

Thanks for bring the guinea pig Jay....

.....it can't be too big of a scam....the Unsers are involved with it....we'll see...

My biggest question: Will the mpg $$ savings be enough to break even after you buy this stuff?

It will definately be interesting. I doubt it works, but I'd love to see it. As for the rising gas prices, some people in the industry need to get off their @ss and get moving on these hydrogen, electric, and 100% ethanol projects. When these get mass marketed, the gas prices will start to fall.

They must be pushing to get the stuff out there hard, I got a call from Ethos today asking if I wanted to be a Distributor. I haven't even received the stuff yet.

Supposed to be here any day though, hopefully this week. I'm taking a trip over Thanksgiving that will test out the mileage thing nicely, figure I'd drive one way with the stuff and one way without, see what the difference is.

good idea....I suggest adding it for the trip home...that way the trip there is the baseline, and you dont have to worry about it still having an effect if you dont get it all used.

codeman, yeah, looks like the package get's here on Friday, I was going to take a bottle with me and put it in when filling up for the drive home. Their website even has a nice form to use to collect data with and without their product in use, I might just have to print it out and use it.
Maybe I'll start with my next fillup, should be tonight or tomorrow.
