This stinks, Lightning possibly cancelled

They've should've taken care of this a long time ago. They knew where they wanted to go with the truck (as in HP) way before the 03/04s came out, they could have addressed it then, or at least had some idea as to how they were going to take care of the problem....that is if this is true, goodbye.

And Ford wonders why they are losing customers to other brands.
To think I actually believed they still had some car people running the company, instead it's a bunch of clueless corporate morons. What a shame, Ford has the ability to lead the industry, instead they throw in the towel, how disgusting..

Wait wait wait....so Ford, A TRUCK COMPANY, that has a deisel pickup that makes darn near 600 lb feet ot torque doesn't have a tranny to handle the s/c 5.4?
Is it just me or does this just seem to be a bunch of BS?

I woulda thought that it was the peak torque that matters most for the transmission, but i'm guessing not, if this news their giving us is true. But ya, slap on the 6-speed.

In my opinion, anything BUT a stick in the Lightning would be absurd. I mean, if you're going to buy a race car (truck), why would you get an auto? Isn't the purpose of having a fast ride for it to go fast? Why would you want to slow it down?

well, as we've seen from MT's numbers on the 05 auto, it doesn't always have to slow it down that much.
I dunno, to me, autos are gonna just get replaced with CVTs somewhere down the line, but sticks;ll be around forever.
