Spy pics of the Ford Fusion
Well, depending on how the next gen Focus looks like, this is gonna be my 'buttoned down' car...
As for it looking like a CTS? Well, yeah...but the detail in the design is so much more thought out. Look at a CTS and you'll see a bunch of lines and angles that start, end, and go nowhere...the Fusion is much more coherent by looking at the pictures. Just some nice smooth, chiseled lines and a nice chrome smile

WOW looks pretty darn good! I cant wait to see better pictures-pics of the Mustang and 500 did it no justice either. I think it gives a litte more validity to the other 'three bar' concepts too(Bronco and 427 in particular). J Mays already said the 500 will get a restyle possibly as early as the 06 model with the three-bar look and the 3.5 Duratec(thank God). Ford has an 'unnamed compact suv' to bow in 07, and most likely the Vic will get a complete overhaul to a unit body then as well. All the rumors I have heard point to a lengthened S197 Mustang platform, which should fit a host of big motors and go more along with the 427 theme. Who knows, the Vic may turn into a Hurricane powered awd 300 killer that looks like a fusion on steroids.
With the fusion and the upcoming redesigned 06 explorer, and sport trac, by 07 Ford will have another huge boost of new vehicles, maybe more signifigant then the 05 MY. And finally some class-leader engines like the 35 and the Hurricane too. This mid-size sedan fills a long time huge gaping hole in Ford's(or any American domestic car) lineup. Looks like a lot more effort then a simple Malibu rental box. I dont think the old Contour ever quite fit the bill, and Camry and Accord soared ahead as the American 'standard' sedans through the 90's. Playing catch-up is tough though. B)
