*Privacy Not Included

I love what a new car can do. All those high tech cool features that even my 5 or 6 year old car, that still feels new, can't do. But then does a car really need to do all of those things. I came across this article hosted by Mozilla. The developers that bring you the FireFox browser and Thunderbird email client. They are very much into privacy and protecting their users from privacy abuses.

Thought we all should know what we get from all those cool tech features in the new cars. Kind of a buyer beware story. Read this article to find out more...

Yup!!! Seems like everyone is unaware or just don’t care. They are willing to hand out their info and it is very scary what could and will be done with it. Just a matter of time before the crack down begins.

 

Well with a Lot of the Garbage Out There For Some, They Won't Process it Because they Can Not Function Accepting Certain Truths! It's Just Too Much! So They Choose Not To Believe Something Even Deep Down They Know it's True! I Understand It. Some Horrors Out in the World are So Beyond What a Normal Person Can Accept Another Human Being Can Do To Another!

I wonder if cars are somehow exempt from data privacy laws?

Personally I am not a big fan of rules and regulations, in most cases i think we already have too much .... but in this case, more might be needed. Europe is generally ahead of the US on this, with laws about how "personal data" can be used and managed. Generally anything that is "personally identifiable" with a name or identifier, is "personal data" that must be protected properly. From reading this article, it sounds like they could be heading for big trouble with violating those regulations.

Also makes me feel better that I can't afford (actually, refuse to pay the price for) a new car anyway, another good reason to keep the old ones running!

 

Had not thought about the data privacy laws. They are surely in violation. Must be some how exempt or when you buy the car you are agreeing to give your rights away. Guess a class action lawsuit is just around the corner?

 

Distraction & Spin are The Norms These Days! Most Folks Are So Overwhelmed They Can't Focus on All the Issues Occuring! I Had the Ear of Most of The TMS Community Back in The Day and Was Considered The Word on Parts. Yet on this Subject You Can See that Was Not The Case. It was Just a Meh Attitude! It was The Time To Act Then! Now We are So Much Deeper Down The Rabbit Hole!
