Seriously considering ordering an 09 Challenger
It's hard to resist the temptation of ordering a 6-speed manual '09 Challenger with a LSD 3.90 option.
I'm starting to suspect the 6.1 425hp motor may be as good as it gets, although really, I cannot imagine the 6.4 being much worse on fuel economy.
I love my GT, and it's built to the hilt, but I am jonesing for a black Challenger.
Must resist temptation to open check book........

I would consider a Challenger too as it looks like an awesome ride. Kinda big and heavy, but handles its weight well, better than the GT500 I'll hazard, goes great and looks great (seems to hide its size well). The six speed and 3.90 LSD rear ought to really wake it up too.
You might wait and see what the '10 Stang turns out to be like. It does have the inherent benefit of being about a very significant 1/4 ton lighter, though if the retain the lively axle, a suspension about a 1/4 century dated. But if product planning happens a glance at a wall calendar and decides to stick in an IRS... If Ford shows uncommon design alacrity and sticks in a 400+hp 5.0 with a half dozen gears behind it, that may well obviate any performance advantage the big Hemi has. Add some decent brakes and if they don't Focus-Coupe the styling and the Stang may well stay in the game.

hahhahahaaa
...... or atleast it should.
You've got a great car now, with great power (more so than the Challenger right?) with argueably better looks, weight, and aftermarket support. Why start over now? Atleast, if anything, do what some of these other dudes have said and wait to see the '10 Mustang. Just my 2 cents- but I'm admittedly biased too.

I think I would wait for the dust to settle before buying an '09 Challenger. For one, there's bound to be first year bugs and glitches. Two, if the Challenger is around for a couple more model years, Chrysler might actually fix some of the details that they neglected right out of the gate like the hand-me-down interior (a true Mopar steering wheel would be nice).
DO IT. Like above, if you have the means you know it's gonna kill you when you see that other guy driving your black challenger. If you don't have the means, then wait. The car shouldn't hold you back, just the deal you get for it.
