After a recent trip to L.A we came to the hard decision that with a family of 4, the Mustang just will not do.
So we made the hard decision of paying it off within the year, and trading it in.
Input greatly Appreciated.

I'm gonna have to go with the Subaru or LS V8. My family has owned...wait a sec I have to count them all... 5 Subarus and they are a blessing. The AWD system is amazing and probably the most sophisticated on the market and the pickup in the Legacy GT is astounding for a 2.5 4 cyl. Turbo. They are also the most reliable vehicles on the road and very safe.
My uncle has also owned 2 LS's, one a V6 when they first came out and now a 2003 LS V8 and swears by it, it is simply a joy to drive.
On the other hand the LS V8 is great too. Very refined, safe, smooth and more than enough power.
Although I like the Lincloln LS V8 much better performance and style wise, the Subaru is going to much better in the winter months with the AWD
The ride in a Subaru is firm but not punishing, the seats stiff yet comfortable, and their engines are just so smooth.
The ride in the LS is more luxurious and relaxed and more comfortable than the Subaru, yet sporty at the same time. The drivetrain on the LS is also incredibly refined.
If I had to choose it would be between the LS and the Legacy GT.
They are both wonderful vehicles. I have test driven both and they are both phenominal machines.
Good luck![04](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/04.gif)
EDIT: Now if you will be towing a lot then the F-150 is your top choice.

What is your realistic price range? What are you going to need the car for (just around town stuff, family road trips, hauling a significant amount of people/stuff/gear, etc.)?
I only ask because your choices are all over the board. Makes, models, prices(looks to be from about 20 to 45 large), sizes (from RX-8/Focus to Charger/500 to F-150), it doesn't really look like you have anything in mind. Do you need a truck bed? Will your family really fit in a RX-8 or a Focus (which really don't have that much more room over a Stang? Or do you just want a new car in general, and these are the ones that appeal to you?

We plan on spending up 45g, the SRT-8 Charger is pushing it, so we may end up with just an R/T if it's the charger
We need a change because a car with just 2 doors just isnt doing it. and all these differant types are up there because they are all powerful in their own aspect, and quick.

The RX-8 though is going to be way too small for a family of 4. Granted it has the "suicide" doors but its still going to be a pain in the rear to get the kids in and out of it.
Stick with something that is more family economical.![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
RX-8 intererior room:
Interior
Front Head Room: 36.7 in. Front Hip Room: 53.4 in.
Front Shoulder Room: 54.9 in. Rear Head Room: 36.5 in.
Rear Shoulder Room: 54.9 in. Rear Hip Room: 48.1 in.
Front Leg Room: 42.7 in. Rear Leg Room: 32.3 in.
Luggage Capacity: 7.6 cu. ft. Maximum Cargo Capacity: 8 cu. ft.
Maximum Seating: 4
Mustang GT interior room:
Front Head Room: 38.6 in. Front Hip Room: 53.6 in.
Front Shoulder Room: 55.4 in. Rear Head Room: 35 in.
Rear Shoulder Room: 53.3 in. Front Leg Room: 42.7 in.
Rear Leg Room: 31 in. Luggage Capacity: 12.3 cu. ft.
Maximum Seating: 4
As you can see the rear leg difference is very minimal. Slightly better but not by much. An luggage capacity is going to drive you nuts. Compared with the RX-8 it would be better off sticking with the Mustang.
Here's a Lincoln LS for comparison:
Interior
Front Head Room: 38.6 in. Front Hip Room: 53 in.
Front Shoulder Room: 57.6 in. Rear Head Room: 36.7 in.
Rear Shoulder Room: 57 in. Rear Hip Room: 54.7 in.
Front Leg Room: 42.8 in. Rear Leg Room: 36 in.
Luggage Capacity: 13.5 cu. ft. Maximum Cargo Capacity: 102 cu. ft.
Maximum Seating: 5
Much better

Why not the Magnum? I think it looks much better than the Charger. I think Dodge missed the styling boat on that one. Could have paid a lot more "homage" to the '69.
BTW, if I had even $35k to spend I'd look at the Infiniti G35.

Subaru's can be both quick and reliable cars. We put my friends Subaru through so much and it still kept up with us. We jumps a 5 ft tall curb, ran from cops through a park, drove for hours and hours and made the sunroof a popular entrance way. Those cars are tough!
I say got with Subaru!
