Didn't they test this thing or something like it on MythBusters a while back? If I remember correctly, the hydrogen generator they tested actually made some hydrogen but not enough to run the car during the test.

what if you use something like distilled water?? is that like making your car supercharged or boosted?? how about sparkling water like Perrier??

Let's see Hydrogen Blimps were a baaad Idea, Hydrogen is fused in the detonation of the biggest nuclear bombs, and they want me to drive around with a hydrogen tank in the back? There is a reason hydrogen was abandoned as an alternative source of fuel for automobiles. No thanks.
