Rolls Roycle Unveils Phantom Coupe
Rolls Roycle Unveils Phantom Coupe
A two door Roller for those who don't want a disappearing roof. I must admit this looks much better than I expected based on spy photos. Still it seems a bit contrived. If you want two doors and have the cash to buy this I would think that the Bentley Brooklands would make for a more compelling choice.

I actually really like this, except the doors. I'd definitely take one.
Looks pretty **** good, but for a "driver's Rolls" it still has a Chauffeur's dash, **** that's painful to look at.
As for the Bentley offerings, I have to disagree. The Brooklands still looks like a refugee from the 1990s, and the Continental GT is is in the AM class of sport-luxury, not the pure self-indulgent lux represented by this car.

Hate to buck the trend, but I pretty much hate it. I think Rolls Royce is in such a need of a new design philosophy it kills me. They try so hard to make every Rolls look like the same Rolls they sold in the 70's and 80's, like somehow people wont buy it if it doesn't look like some variation of that. The headlights look like someone took out the double headlights on the front end and grafted a single headlight onto a piece of sheetmetal and stuck that in place of the previous headlights. The flippin grill and headlight dimensional proportions look exactly the same as 15 years ago!
I think they need to take a long hard look at themselves and realize they can deliver luxury that even an old man would love without looking like a slightly refreshed version of exactly the same car they made last year. Jaguar, Mercedez and Aston Martin all come to mind when I think of car companies that were 'stuck in a rut' for the longest time and finally got some good designs going and reinvented themselves and now Jag and AM sell some of the sexiest cars around, even ones that aren't sports cars.
Just my opinion.
